High pitch whining sound when cruising

Hi peeps, wanna seek advice from your guys about this strange noise I encounter with my old Vios. Whenever I'm driving on high speed (80km/h), occasionally I will hear this high-pitch noise, much like whining/whistling sound, like the alphabet "E" sound. I can hear it from the car cabin but couldn't determine where did the sound come from (outside) because it only appeared for few seconds. It didn't affect the driving at all but sounds annoying.

I just changed the belts not long ago so can rule that out. Could it be the wheels? The bearing? Or the brake pad?

Please share your insights on this. Thanks!

What can cause "Reallocated Sector Count"?

Hi peeps, I'm having this serious problem with HDD that keep failing with my rig, and I couldn't determine the source of the problem.

My computer HDD always encounter "Reallocated Sector Count" and sometime "Current Pending Sector Count". At first I thought it's the HDD problem, maybe it's getting old and dying soon, so I just replace the HDD. But even with new HDD it's keep happening again. So I thought maybe the motherboard has something to do with this, so I tried changing the motherboard (different board, different CPU but same RAM) and start testing with another new HDD. Yet, it just gave me the same problems again.

So I'm wondering, what could possibly causing these problem again and again, even with different motherboard. Could it be PSU? SATA cable?

FYI the failing HDD didn't really stop the computer from booting because I use a seperate SSD for OS operation. The HDD is just for file storage purpose. That's why I feel confused that a not-so-active HDD will fail so easily...??

I tried WD, Hitachi, then WD again, all failed.

Please help! Any suggestion or opinion is welcome!

Motherboard killing my harddisks?

Hi peeps, I'm having some issue here with my rig. I'm using ASUS Rampage Extreme with C2Q CPU, 8GB Ram and HD5870, supported by Seasonic 660W PSU. I'm running Win7 on a Vertex SSD, and store data on WD 1TB Green, Seagate 500GB and lately, Hitachi 500GB. All 3 3.5" harddisk eventually running error such as couldn't read from disk, bad sector and so on.

I'm wondering is the motherboard killing my hard disks? Or PSU? But somehow my SSD which holds the OS doesn't have any problem so far. It's always the 3.5" storage harddisks. Any idea?

Does CPU temperature affect CPU PLL Voltage?

Hi peeps, I'm setting up a system and facing this issue. The CPU PLL voltage is rated at V1.7x and RED COLOR in BIOS. The other voltage reading is normal. The CPU temperature is at a whopping 84'C which I think the thermal paste just failed.

I just loaded the default setting for the motherboard (ASUS Rampage Extreme X48). Almost everything is set to AUTO.

Any idea on what caused the reading of CPU PLL Voltage to be abnormal?

RPM drop to 200-300 when braking to a stop

Hi peeps, currently I'm experiencing this problem. I'm driving a 2007 Honda City VTEC with 7-speed CVT transmission. Recently I discovered that whenever I brake the car to a full stop, the RPM will drop to very low at 200-300, then bounce back to normal idle value around 600. This happens everytime when the car is warmed up and driving around after 5-10mins. The car never stall though. Whenever it hits the low RPM then it will bounce back immediately.

I just did the service and the mechanic helped cleaning the fuel injection tube/part, but to no avail the problem still there.

Any of you peeps experienced situation like this?? Would very much appreciate if you share your experiences and opinions regarding this problem. Thanks alot!
