EXTERNAL HDD Problem

I have an external Toshiba HDD. I use a Macbook Air EL Capitan Mac OS.

Recently my friend plugged my HDD to her Mac Air. Then apparently she yanked it before it was ready to be ejected. Since then my HDD cannot be detected by my Mac or by Windows desktop. There's a clicking sound when you plug it in and I know people are going to say it's dead already.

BUT when I check Device Manager on Windows, the Toshiba HDD is detected and registered as Working Properly. Even the "Safely Remove Hardware" is activated when it is plugged in.

But I cant access the HDD itself.

Please help. The HDD is my backup from my old broken laptop so it's important.

Exteral Hard Drive Undetectable

I have a Fujitsu 500GB external hard drive. Recently, when I plug it in the laptop, it is not detectable and doesn't light up. Tried on a different laptop, same problem. But it doesn't give out a beeping sound just silence and unresponsive. Not the cable problem as I've tried a different cable and it still doesn't work. It never fell either, always in its casing.

1. How to solve this issue?
2. If my HD is dead, is the data recoverable somehow?

Lenovo G580 - Bottom Casing dented

So I have a Lenovo G580 that's nearly a year old. My warranty will expire in January I think. I recently discovered that my cooling vent casing, where there are the black grilles, are slightly cracked/bent. Even the grilles of the fan inside look bent.

So Im not saying this isn't my fault - physical damages don't occur spontaneously.

My question is, is it possible if I go to Digital Mall and have them fix it for me? Are there any shops that do hardware replacement like this? I am assuming I no longer have warranty so I have to pay, can anyone give me an approx quotation for a back casing and fan for my laptop?

I emailed Lenovo but they can only get back next week I just want some other feedback.

Thanks

Edit to include picture

Anyone know if this is available locally?

I saw this on Amazon Air Fi Runaway for around $62 and was tempted to buy but the postage was ridiculous and it made the total wayy above my budget (I'm still a student have to be frugal) but honestly this headset ticks most of my boxes.

I am now looking for alternative (cheaper) options locally but at the same time just curious if anyone has seen this particular brand in Malaysia. Maybe the price will be *slightly* affordable. I looked through some threads and while a lot of brands are mentioned not much on Meelectronic products.

Why can't my Chrome save PDF?

Chrome Version (type about:9.0.59719):
Operating System (Windows 7):
Extensions (type Chrome:Adobe Reader XI ):

I recently bought a new laptop with pre-installed Chrome. Version stated above.

However, when I open a PDF file, the option to save it was not given. Refer attachment 1. There was the icon to zoom in and out but no icon to print or save.

I opened the site on Firefox and had the option to print and save. Refer attachment 2.

How can I fix this?

Recommendation for laptop please - quite URGENT =)

Just want to ask experienced forumers here on suggestions for a new laptop. I'm currently on semester break and will be going back to uni next week and back to uni means more laptop usage so just want to get a better lappy.

Current laptop is Dell N4030. Bought in 2010. It has served me well or at least good enough. Within the 1 year warranty, already serviced fan once, change fan once and change battery once. Best experience with Dell is the Warranty definitely- fast and efficient.

Problems : Right now usage very slugginsh and lagging. Can't even open Chrome or Mozilla without it crashing within a couple minutes. Had to use IE which I hate. Overheating problem!! Really2 don't like this one. My sister has been using her old Dell Inspiron for about 5 years it still works better than mine! Also battery problems - need constant charging and now alert pops up asking me to replace battery. Thing is even from the start my lappy battery life 1hr 30 min max...SO SAD! even after change new battery during warranty, it was the same.

So here are my desired specs so hope you guys can suggest some good lappys not much of a techie so not asking for too much.

1. 4GB RAM i5/i7 Intel Core
2. GOOD BATTERY LIFE!! (at least 2-3 hours sufficient for me)
3. Not too much overheating problems- I know most lappy these days hv this prob but I want lappys with less chronic problem
4. Good warranty service - Best I heard and experience Dell, would like to try Asus but just read the thread on awful warranty service
5. Lightweight
6. Price RM2500 max (still student lorr..)
7. Screen preferably 14'' but not less than 10''-12'' essentially means NOT A NETBOOK
8. with DVD player

i think that's all. any brand welcome. if I can think of anymore will post later.

thanks!
