After SPM, should go to STPM or Private Colleage?

I just finish SPM exam, I wish to ask the the question of should I further to STPM or Private College which will cost easily 30-40k (e.g. Taylor Colege A Level cost RM39,000.00).

My goal is to enter university and earned a Degree before venture into work market. I scored 7A's in PMR, number 2 and number 3 in my class in USJ2.

I am in dilemma, my mother insisting STPM is the last choice, she prefer TAR College or, private college to ensure I get the course I like, while doing STPM, even good result, may not get the course I want due to Government bureaucracy.

While my father favour I do STPM just like he himself and my mother in the 90's (both earned UKM degree eventually).

Please advice. Tq in advance.
