V12Evo2 vs Fleva V701

I’m giving my feedback here to those who are contemplating on getting either Yokohama Fleva V701 OR Hankook Ventus V12 evo 2. Hence, allow me to give my 2 pennies worth as I have used BOTH tyres!

Yokohama Fleva V701 (used for 1 year, below 7K kms)
- quietness 5/10
It’s quite quiet at first when you install (I do mean quite only) but the tyre noise gets louder as the tyre ages to the point where the tyres are no longer considered as QUIET tyres as most people proclaims.

- grip 5/10
Did some rounds to GENTING and the tyres just squeals as almost every corner. Not so confidence here.

- wet grip 7/10
Well, perhaps it shines here but not by much as I didn’t encounter any aquaplanning.

- comfort 6.5/10
Because of the stiffer side walls (at least to my point of view) the comfort is sacrificed a little here.

Overall 5.5/10
With the price below the premium tyres such as PS4 etc, it’s quite predictable that you don’t expect much from these tyres. What annoys me the most is the tyre noise. I used to use S drive last time and I had to change the tyres after 2K kms because of the unbearable road noise. I must say that these Fleva which is a replacement of S drive is not much better.

Hankook Ventus V12evo2 K120 (used for 6 months, below 4K kms)
- quietness 8/10
Now I know that some test shown that the Fleva and V12 dB is about the same but I feel that the V12s are much quieter tyres.

- grip 7/10
Good grip no drama here. Although I have not tried going up GENTING but I did a high speed test and it performs well.

- wet grip 7/10
Although some users commented that these tyres don’t perform well in wet, I believe it’s about the same as Fleva. So, am satisfied with it.

- comfort 7.5/10
The side walls are perhaps a tad less stiff than Fleva. Hence, comfort is better. It absorbs uneven roads better.

Overall 7.5/10
I’m comparing both Fleva and V12s here and I find that the V12s are a tad cheaper than Fleva but it performs much better than Fleva. Therefore, I would recommend buyers who are in a dilemma on choosing V12s or Fleva, just go for V12s.

Just had a nice run with an Audi RS6. Didn't notice he was behind me after toll. Hence, stepped on the gas and so did he.

Though we were both kinda challenging each other, we had to go alternate ways. As we departed, we wave to each other like friends.

This is what car enthusiasts should be. Both just wanna try out each other's car capacity and at the end just be cool, wave and respect each other...

Used car dealers

I've been searching around for a new or used cars recently. I found that most if not all used car dealers are just maximizing their profit even though car market now is soft.

For example, they will publish the rates at pretty 'reasonable' price say rm100k for Passat CC. Once you reach and ask, they'll say the price is not inclusive of transfer, road tax etc etc. Thus, the price can go up to additional RM4k for transfer fees, rm3-4K for insurance (inclusive of windscreen coverage etc) and road tax, even though the car's road tax is still valid for more than 6 months. Final price will be additional rm8-10k! Also don't forget, the commission that they get from bank loan, insurance etc!

Other than that, when they buy used cars, they'll take it at least rm10k difference from the market rate... Ie if Passat CC, They'll take it at rm90k or even lower. So, the margin is pretty high from buying the used car to selling it!!

I remember last time the transfer fees was at a reasonable price, i.e. Rm400-800. Now, they really hike up the 'transfer' fees.

What I'm really amaze is that the car market is really soft but they still want to MAXIMIZE their profit kaw kaw!!

Morning trivia on tyre puncture!

So, you are travelling along a highway. Then you heard a weird sound coming from your wheel arch. Stopped at the side and found out that a screw is half way stuck in your tyre. What would you do???

BTW, you don't know how long is the screw. It could be short that if you remove it, your tyre is safe. But it could also be long that it could puncture your tyre!

PETALING JAYA: In the darkest of political times, we must remember to place the country and rakyat first, says the Prime Minister’s brother Datuk Seri Nazir Razak (pic).

The prominent banker posted a picture late Sunday on Instagram of the National Monument together with the caption: “They gave their lives so we could build a nation. In this darkest of political times we must remember to place the country & the rakyat first. Not personal interests, not personal loyalties, not even party politics.”

The National Monument honours those who died in the country’s struggle for freedom.

This is the latest post by the CIMB group chairman via the photo sharing service.

Last week he posted an image of a signboard bearing the words “Truth. Next exit” together with a caption that read: “I hope so. Our institutions must get us there quickly. Malaysians feeling truth-deprived - depressing and divisive. After truth we can find reconciliation.”

Nazir, who is the younger brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, has actively spoken out on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.

In May, he slammed 1MDB’s top executives for failing to turn up for the Public Accounts Committee hearing.

He also previously questioned the state investment arm’s lateness in beginning its March 2015 audit.

My wife's car got bang at the rear

Pretty bad. The whole left side bumper went in! Happened at the school area and according to my wife, this lady driver drove so fast (in a residential area) and hit the rear of my wife's car. She then signal my wife to go to the side and as soon as my wife moved, she quickly drove away!!!!

Couldn't manage to get her full plate number but some witness gave this detail only - 8942!!! The car is grand livina silver..

If it belongs to someone here, may God forgive your sin!!!!!
