No wonder the public is still dissatisfied with the government.

I took leave today to renew my passport, only to run into a power-tripping RELA officer who actually had the nerve to say my shirt was too short. She started yelling at me from a distance, ordered me to step out of the queue, and even called another RELA officer over to escort me out.

I was wearing long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a collared shirt that completely covered my waistband. She said my shirt was short—what, does it need to cover my butt? I gave her a piece of my mind, and she ultimately let me go back in line. I've been to plenty of government departments; do they really think I don't know the basic dress code by now?

A lot of the time, it's these grassroots-level personnel who ruin the government's image. Having a standard dress code is fine, but they shouldn't use their own made-up standards against the public. I knew I fully met the requirements. After I told off the first RELA officer, the second one let me in. Then, that same old lady from the beginning actually came over and started calling me "darling."

Sometimes, you really can't afford to be too nice. People will just walk all over you.

Not sure am I suffering from depression and burn out at work.
Feels like I can't find joy from buying edible food nowadays that fits in between my food budget of RM 15 max per meal.
Or just particular good food to my tastebuds.
Until my stomach been in some flu-ish / void of hungry and hangry-ness.

I'm Earning RM 6.5k now @ 29, after working for ~5 years in the semicon industry, after taxes + PCB is about RM5.5k, my monthly expenses is normally is about RM 2-3k.

Not sure I'm gonna have an anxiety attack soon. Feels like everyday I burden over my shoulders and soon can't even breathe and collapse soon with the current state of cost of living.

The demolition of a four-storey apartment building in Hulu Langat allegedly occupied by Rohingya residents has been approved and is awaiting funding from the Selangor government, according to Hulu Langat MP Mohd Sany Hamzan.
He said the operation is estimated to cost RM600,000 and requires several legal procedures before it can be carried out.

(Ulu Langat, 9th) The illegal foreign worker village in Sungai Tekali, Ulu Langat, which has been widely circulated online and alleged to be linked to the Rohingya community, has been revealed to have been illegally built by locals and used as rental housing to rent to foreigners for profit.

A reporter from the Metro Daily conducted an on-site inspection and found that the foreign worker village is located between Jalan Bukit Titiwangsa and Jalan Kenangan 6, about one kilometer away from the nearest main road, Jalan Sungai Dekar.

Behind the four-story illegal "flats" involved in the case, dozens of tightly packed row houses stand side by side, with the entire settlement extending all the way to the banks of the Sungai Makau River.

When reporters arrived at the scene, several men believed to be of Rohingya descent were gathered outside a house on Kampung Ghanan 6, warily eyeing every vehicle that passed through the secluded alley.

The reporter then approached the man, who appeared to be in his twenties, and he revealed that the multi-story building was actually built by a local man in 2016 and subsequently rented to foreigners for RM600 to RM700 per month.

The man claimed that the flat had previously housed dozens of foreign workers until it was completely emptied last year after the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) launched a swift enforcement operation.

He added that most of the residents who managed to escape at the time subsequently moved to other areas, including Simungkis.

“Last year, the immigration authorities came to raid the building, and some people were arrested. My friends warned me not to live here anymore. Now, this building is indeed empty,” he argued in an interview with the Metropolitan Daily.

He also revealed that the entire building was built by a local man nicknamed "David," who was in charge of renting out the units to foreign workers.

“This 'flat' alone has about 16 rooms. The monthly rent for each room is RM600 to RM700, which includes utilities. To be honest, it’s quite expensive. There are no separate rooms inside the house. As soon as you enter, you’re in the living room, and next to it is a small kitchen for cooking.”

The man also revealed that the entire building only had one water meter and one electricity meter, which were shared by all tenants. The landlord was responsible for all these utility costs, which were directly included in the monthly rent.

Meanwhile, several local villagers who declined to be named confirmed that the area had indeed been a highly concentrated gathering place for foreigners for the past few years before law enforcement authorities launched a crackdown.

Currently, the Metro Daily is actively contacting relevant authorities, including the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), to obtain an official response regarding the legal status of the land and buildings at the settlement.

Rohingya's Begging in Malls & Harass Customers

KUANTAN, 5th – Kuantan City Councilor Nik Mohd Ridzuan recently received complaints regarding Rohingya individuals harassing and begging from the public within the Indera Mahkota Lotus’s hypermarket area, causing concern among local merchants and consumers.

According to Nik Mohd Ridzuan, the hypermarket’s manager, Dines, expressed deep dissatisfaction with the behavior. He noted that individuals frequently enter the mall premises to solicit donations and have allegedly gone so far as to harass customers for money.

Unsanitary Behavior and Financial Impact
"According to the complaints, they do not just beg; some customers reported being actively harassed," Ridzuan stated on his Facebook page. "Some individuals have even approached customers' tables and taken food without permission."

He pointed out that this behavior has caused major inconvenience to patrons and severely damaged the mall's image. Furthermore, because customers complained about their food being touched by strangers, the hypermarket has had to bear the costs of compensating disappointed diners.

A Long-Standing Community Issue
Ridzuan posted on social media yesterday that this issue is not isolated to the Indera Mahkota area. Similar incidents have been reported in other neighborhoods with high Rohingya populations, turning it into a long-standing community livelihood issue. Photos and accounts of Rohingya children begging from shoppers inside malls are frequently shared by local residents.

Calls for Government Regulation
The councilor emphasized that differences in living cultures and habits have made some local residents uncomfortable, sparking widespread concern and discussion at the community level.

“We sympathize with their situation as refugees," Ridzuan concluded. "But at the same time, we must also take into account the economic pressures faced by local citizens, as well as the competition and challenges they face in making a living. The government should appropriately regulate refugees to address these issues."

Hard to find someone to officially admit STPM Science Stream is only Malaysian Chineses who actually supporting the STPM system.

But I guess this system is starting to shaken soon, with lesser students doing STEM.

As Newer Generation also kinda reluctant in studying STEM pathways in uni also. Also so many brainrot content now, compared to the 2000-2010s era.
People can watch Discovery Channels, NatGEO, MythBusters, proper Science Shows from Australian.... Backyard Science, Beyond Tomorrow.

Rohingya refugee riding an unlicensed motorcycle caused a fatal accident, resulting in the driver seeking compensation.

Selangor defends guidelines for new houses of worship

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor government has defended new planning guidelines that bar non-Islamic houses of worship from being built in commercial areas.
A spokesman from the menteri besar’s office said the guidelines were based on feedback received by local councils from residents living near commercial areas.

The new rules are to allow for better movement of traffic and parking facilities, as commercial areas have limited space and may not be able to cater to the needs of religious communities, the spokesman told FMT.

The spokesman also said the rules apply only to new developments and will not affect houses of worship already operating in commercial or other premises.

“Moving forward, each new area, which is developed for residential purposes, will have a gazetted land for both Muslim and non-Muslim houses of worship.”

The clarification comes after Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung raised concerns over the recently published Selangor State Planning Guidelines and Standards for Community Facilities, which were approved at a state exco meeting on Nov 12 last year.

The guidelines are administered by PLANMalaysia Selangor, the state’s town and country planning department.

Paragraphs 6 and 7 of the section governing non-Islamic places of worship state that such facilities may not be placed in commercial zones and that existing buildings cannot be converted.

Lee said the restrictions could affect many religious groups in Selangor as many currently use commercial or industrial buildings due to a lack of approved land.

“Rather than intensifying efforts to address the long-standing shortage of land for non-Islamic houses of worship, why introduce restrictions on arrangements that have largely not posed problems?” he said in a Facebook post.

PUTRAJAYA: The government has agreed on several matters concerning entry pathways for students outside the national education system to pursue studies at public higher learning institutions.
In a statement, the higher education ministry said the Cabinet agreement involves the entry of students from tahfiz schools, private schools and Chinese independent secondary schools into public universities.

Candidates from these streams who also possess a full Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualification may apply for any programme through the UPUOnline system.

This is subject to the general and specific programme requirements set by universities through a merit-based selection process.

Candidates who do not have a full SPM certificate but sit for Bahasa Melayu and History subjects conducted by the Malaysian Examination Board may be considered for certain programmes at public universities.

These programmes have been identified based on the suitability of the field of study and current needs.

For candidates from tahfiz institutions, the identified programmes are: diploma and bachelor’s degree in dakwah; diploma and bachelor’s degree in Al-Quran and As-Sunnah; bachelor’s degree in tahfiz education; and bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies (dakwah).

For Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) graduates, the identified programmes are: bachelor of arts in Chinese language studies with honours; bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and linguistics; bachelor of arts in Chinese studies; and bachelor’s degree in Chinese language with education.

“All applications will be processed based on the principles of meritocracy, academic qualification requirements and subject to the regulations and decisions of the university senate,” the ministry said.

It added that the approach is part of efforts to make access to higher education more inclusive without compromising academic standards and the quality of the national higher education system.
