And the Chinese told me to switch to English because they would rather hear me in English than tolerating my Mandarin. Not the first time this happened.

Sad. My Mandarin must have been crap after all these years of not speaking it.

Been here almost one week (not by choice) and I have never seen this amount of trash anywhere in my life. Even in Bangkok, most streets were definitely cleaner than here. The street vendors here just dump everything on the floor/ by the roadside. Also, can't understand why they are wearing mostly slippers everywhere either when everywhere is dirty and it rains every day.
