Hi all, I did not dig too much before posting.
Is anyone here in a committed relationship but not legally married in the country, and with no plans to do so, or close to anyone in this kind of relationship? (not sure if there is a term for that)

What would be the downsides for couples who are not legally married in this country?
What are the obvious legal complications? Can't legally have kids? (Exclude inheritance rights, social, religion and cultural perceptions please)

Just another one-sided love story

Heyy random Internet strangers. I just want to share my story (or just venting), or perhaps maybe receive some words of encouragement from a random kind soul, or maybe even someone to chat with.. here goes:

So, 6-7ish years ago, I found myself drawn to a colleague, we did some activities in a small group and had lunches together for a while. People told me that is infatuation. Anyway, recognizing her lack of interest, I started to distance myself from her and limit our interactions.

During that period, I grew really close to another colleague, which really helped to alleviate my emotions.
My heart races a little when I see my crush, but nothing too dramatic.

And fast forward to recent days, my buddy colleague left the company, and now I realized my feelings for that lady had not faded. So, seeking closure and to truly move on, I confessed my feelings to her. I faced rejection, of course!

Objectively thinking: feelings are not mutual, just kill all hope, accept the pain, and move on.. but the emotional challenges.. hohoho

It's been 5 weeks since the rejection. I suppose I just passed that so-called 'acceptance phase'.
Generally feeling okay, but whenever I think about how she has no feelings for me (yeh yeh feelings can't be forced, I can't control that etc.), I get that heartache (like being stabbed in the chest?)

Unrequited love just such a common thing..
