Staying Friends, Clearing Stuff ?

Recently, I've stumbled into a very complicated situation. I have this guy friend, that likes another girl. And since some events we've worked together and occasional interacts in social webs, we got somehow close. And whenever he has downcast because of the girl, I'd be comforting him and we went out for lunch along with some other friends a few times and got really close.

We chat and we texted everyday. And he's flirty. This has been going on for quite sometime and it doesn't seem to matter. Until some time later, he did something really sweet and I was touched. Maybe I should skip this and to the point.

Feelings that are more than friends developed I guess. Until one of our friends pointed out and asked if i have a thing for him. We(me and the guy friend) talked about it and we figured we both have feelings for each other. But at some point, he also admitted that he still likes the girl he initially likes(he chats with the girl too). And he somehow confessed to the girl about his feelings for me. The girl admitted she actually has feelings for him too. But they'll stop chatting. And he was upset about it but he told me it's ok.

But he told me that he wants us to stay just friends for the time being. He wants to clear some stuff. He feels bad for hurting the girl. And honestly, i feel really really really bad that things turned out this way.

What does this indicate ? Will things work out for the two of us ?

HOW TO NOT FALL IN LOVE[CATCH ME PLEASE]

Hi everyone.

I reckon i might as well just seek some advice here.

I have this friend, that we now talk and chat pretty frequently and he can be really flirty. He cares a lot how and what i feel and he answers whatever i asks him even though he promised others not to tell anyone, but he tells me, for the sake of i dont feel emo.

But before all these complication happens, i know who he likes. But he said, he don't know if he likes her that way anymore. I don't know where i stand. because, he can be flirty and really sweet sometimes. I remember saying i like something very much, and after a long period, he saw it, and he bought it for me.

I don't know, i'm seriously confused. Can anyone tell me what should i do ? Or maybe just teach me how to control myself as to NOT fall for it ?
