British F-35 crashes into the Mediterranean, pilot ejects safely

British & American F-35Bs from HMS Queen Elizabeth joined those from the US, Italy and Israel for Exercise Falcon Strike 21 (FS21) in June 2021. LONDON – A British F-35B combat jet based on the new Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth has crashed into the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the Ministry of Defence confirmed Nov. 17.

The pilot ejected and has been picked up and returned safely to the carrier.

The F-35B short-take-off, vertical-landing jet was one of eight British aircraft deployed on the Queen Elizabeth as it returned from a deployment in the Far East. The aircraft is one of 24 so far delivered to the British. The British are ordering 48 jets so far but have pledged to purchase 138, although that number is likely to be cut.

Ten US Marine F-35B’s are also deployed on the carrier.

The MoD said the crash occurred at 10:00 GMT during a routine operation from the carrier. No other aircraft were involved.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is on its maiden operational deployment, acting as the centerpiece of a British-led carrier strike group including U.S. and Dutch warships.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, the MoD said on Wednesday.

Ayam just about to open k/ suddenly noticed this news

PETALING JAYA: Ahli Parlimen Padang Rengas, Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz pula dijangkiti wabak Covid-19.

Difahamkan, Nazri mendapati dirinya postitif virus itu selepas beliau membuat ujian saringan selepas mempunyai kontak rapat dengan seorang pesakit Covid-19 menerusi sidang media dilakukannya pada 12 Januari lalu.

Sebelum ini beberapa pemimpin politik turut dijangkiti Covid-19. Antaranya Menteri Di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Ekonomi), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed dan Menteri Pembangunan Wanits dan Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun.

Selain itu, turut dijangkiti wabak itu ialah Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

*TAIB MAHMUD OFFERS TO "BUY" IMMUNITY FROM PUTRAJAYA?*

Kuching: The rumour mill in Petrajaya, Kuching, is said to be furiously turning in overdrive recently with shocking news that Tun Taib Mahmud will be stepping down as State Governor soon.

The talk among Kuching's political elite, especially senior politicians in the ruling PBB party, is that Tun Taib has struck a deal with Putrajaya to "buy" immunity from prosecution. In return, he would step down well ahead of the next state election due in 2021, set up a Sarawak Wealth Fund with his billions stashed overseas, and retire quietly.

Well placed sources quote Tun Mahathir in Putrajaya as saying, "He is old and senile. Nyanyok, you know. We prosecute him, it will take years to settle. He end up in jail pun tak guna. We rather have his money than revenge. We need money to develop the State. We must be practical. Taib needs to return the money to Sarawak. Then he can go on self-exile to Canada or Lebanon. But return the money first."

The question on everyone's lips now is the quantum discussed, negotiated and agreed upon. Sources have indicated a whopping 100 billion. Whether in ringgit or USD is still unknown.

What is known is that a hundred billion, whether ringgit or USD, would be a welcome relief for Sarawak’s State coffers which is also rumoured to be fast depleting.

We can only wait and see. Taib's departure from the scene and from the State would be a good start to a new Sarawak. His billions would also be a fair and just exchange that would be of practical use since the money has always been Sarawak’s rightful treasure that was plundered.

Just now i wanted to TopUp my new number. I was lepaking at setarbak at the airport while waiting my flight. Since my flight is still another 2 hour to go and I surfing k/ using setarbak free wifi. I left my phone with my fren looking for kedai jual reload card. But I only f
ound a stall selling TopUp via auto TopUp.
I ingat2 lupa my phone number. So I wrote my number on the TopUp book and the amount of rm30. I wented back to setarbak, I realized the number that I wrote just now terbalik. Bugger!! Bodo bodo saja hilang rm30

So todei I was admitted to SGH for hydrochepalus (?). After MRI was done a week ago at MGHosp, they refer me to SGH.

I tot to go for awhile only, but they do a lumbar puncture to my lower backbone (spinal cord). Very sakit liaoo!!!. But b4 LP done they gimme some morphine to reduce pain.

Then come night, some of the patient dowan to stay overnight in the hospital, want to escape. 1 patient wanted to escape through the window and being caught by the security guard.

Manchester United have become the first sports team in the world to be valued at more than $3bn. A surge in the club's shares after a poor start when they were offered on the New York Stock Exchange in August has seen the overall value of United rise to $3.3bn (£2.1bn).

According to Forbes, United are comfortably ahead of the world's second-most valuable sports team, the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, worth $2.1bn (£1.4bn).

The United shares were initially offered to the public at $14 and are now worth just under $17. It means a huge increase in the overall wealth of the Glazer family, who have a controlling interest in United, and the billionaire investor George Soros – the 22nd richest person in the world – who bought a 7.5% stake in the club.

United's commercial growth appears to be driving the share price up, with the club announcing several new sponsorship deals since August, qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages and with the prospect of the new bumper Premier League television deals that are coming on stream from August.

The Glazers sold 10% of their shares in the initial public offering sale in August but United's vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, insisted in October the family will not sell the club for "many, many years" despite ongoing interest.

Woodward said they had no interest in cashing in the rest of their holding.

M4 Carbine to replace M16 - Ahmad Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: The Defence Ministry is confident that the 200,000 units of the M4 carbine slated to replace the M16, currently in use, can be manufactured locally.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the confidence was based on a transfer of technology agreement between a local company and a company in the United States, enabling 85 per cent of it manufacture to be done locally.

“For a start, 11,000 units have been produced, tested and approved for domestic use next year,” he said after chairing a meeting of the Malaysian Industry Council For Defence, Enforcement and Security (MIDES), here, yesterday.

He said the production of the M4, a very light weapon of medium size with semi-automatic and three-round bursts shooting modes, would not be limited to the army but would also be used by other security agencies in the country.

Compared to the M16 which was first used in Malaysia in 1976, M4 had a heavier barrel and could ensure sustained bursts of fire. On MIDES, Ahmad Zahid said the three-hour meeting also discussed improvements which would be carried out in advancing the information and communication technology (ICT) industry especially on cyber security.

“We are still at the low end in the ICT industry and will carry out smart partnerships with ICT companies to develop several enforcement equipment to face cyber warfare,” he said.

Nevertheless, he said the ministry would not seek an increase to its allocation in the 2013 Budget.
“We will definitely carry out improvements and upgrade several assets, but the ministry has no plan to ask for any allocation,” he added. — Bernama

BEBERAPA penduduk melarikan diri ke tempat yang lebih tinggi selepas gegaran gempa bumi kuat dirasai di Padang, Indonesia kelmarin.

JAKARTA - Kira-kira 113 orang maut dan ratusan lagi termasuk sekumpulan peluncur ombak Australia hilang kelmarin setelah ombak besar tsunami yang dicetuskan satu gempa bumi kuat melanda Kepulauan Mentawai di perairan Sumatera dengan memusnahkan perkampungan dan rumah.

Ketua Pusat Krisis Kementerian Kesihatan Indonesia, Mujiarto berkata, menurut maklumat terkini seramai 113 ornag terbunuh.

Menurut Pertubuhan Palang Merah Indonesia, bilangan mereka yang masih hilang ialah 502 orang.

Agensi Kaji Selidik Geologi Amerika Syarikat (AS) menyatakan, gempa bumi kuat berukuran 7.7 pada skala Richter menggegarkan Kepulauan Mentawai, barat pulau Sumatera pada pukul 9.42 malam kelmarin waktu tempatan.

Gempa itu berpusat pada kedalaman 20.6 kilometer, 280 kilometer ke selatan bandar Padang.

Beberapa pegawai berkata, bencana itu mencetuskan tsunami setinggi tiga meter yang menghanyutkan 10 buah kampung.

Sekumpulan pelancong Australia melaporkan bahawa bot mereka yang dinaiki 15 orang musnah dipukul ombak yang kelihatan seperti tembok air menghempas sebuah teluk selepas gempa bumi bawah laut itu berlaku.

Sebahagian mereka terpaksa berpaut pada pokok-pokok untuk terus hidup.

Agensi Kaji Selidik Geologi AS menyatakan, gempa bumi itu berlaku pada pukul 9.42 malam (waktu tempatan) pada kedalaman 20.6 kilometer, dan berpusat 280 kilometer ke selatan bandar Padang.

Mudjiharto berkata, tsunami di Mentawai melanda sejauh 600 meter ke darat di Pulau Pagai Selatan, lokasi paling teruk terjejas.

Sementara itu, seorang warga Australia, Rick Hallet menyatakan, dia bersama 15 yang lain melihat seolah-olah satu tembok air bergerak ke arah botnya yang dinaiki mereka di sebuah teluk di kepulauan Mentawai.

"Kami mendengar bunyi ngauman yang amat kuat," kata Hallet yang menguruskan perniagaan sewa bot di Sumatera.

"Saya terus melihat ke laut dan kami melihat tembok air itu menuju ke arah kami. Tsunami itu melambungkan sebuah bot ke arah kami dan bot kami meletup akibat rempuhan," tambahnya.

Kumpulan itu termasuk sembilan warga Australia itu kemudian bertindak pantas dengan terjun ke dalam air ketika bot mereka meletup.
