Stop smoking or you will lose your sex life..

got this article from my friend, looks like smoking might cause erectile dysfunction...

more related information : http://www.treatmentofimpotence.org or you may google for more related website.

Impotence and Smoking
********************

There is a proven relationship between smoking and impotence. Smoking increases the chance of male impotence by at least half in men in their 30's and 40's.

During an erection large quantities of blood flows into the arteries of the penis under pressure, this causes the veins that drain the blood from the penis to become compressed and prevent the out flow of blood from the penis, thus causing an erection. This function is significantly impaired in men who smoke, less blood flows into the penis because the arteries that supply the blood to the penis are blocked by fatty deposits that have built up over time, this is called atherosclerosis, and is caused in most cases by smoking cigarettes.

Another symptom of smoking that effects the ability to get an erection is called vasospasm. Vasospasm is rapid contractions in the tissue of the penis that is a direct result of nicotine stimulation of the brain, this also restricts blood flow to the penis and reduces the chance of getting an erection.

Nicotine also affects the sensitive valve mechanism that traps blood in the penis during an erection this is called venous dilation and happens mainly with people who smoke.

As well as impotence, smoking can also cause a low sperm count, reduced ejaculation volume and abnormal sperm shape.

Smoking is also directly linked to one of society biggest killers "heart disease" and other serious illnesses, like lung cancer and (COPD) Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease .About 25,000 people in the Britain die each year from this serious lung disease. More than 80% of these deaths are directly linked to cigarette smoking. People who die of COPD are usually unwell for several years before they die.

Smoking also causes other problems, like cancers of the mouth, throat and larynx as well as circulation problems that can affect the arms and legs, that is caused by the hardening of the artery's, which again is attributed to smoking.

The problems caused by smoking are endless and if you do smoke you should be thinking of giving up for all the above reasons. There are many different methods available to help you quit and plenty of free support rom various organizations.
