Wented for short vacation at Zenith Hotel Putrajaya last week.

I saw a few empty parking slots allocated for EV, but I wanted to try my luck.
Wented to ask the receptionist lady if I could park overnight since my Honda CRV RS is a HYBRID vehicle, she gave the okay.

I mean, the signboard clearly stated: "For Electric, HYBRID vehicles only".

Then i saw one great looking Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Fuel Cell car parked beside me, but he never "CHARGE" the electric to his Hydrogen fuel cell car also? On top of that, he has an EV white special plate number?

When i reached at this Starbucks Changlun chargeEV DCFC yesterday from holiday in Thailand, it was offline. And locals there said offline for many months already. LEL

Hotlink App login using iPad esim only

I just successfully registered a new hotlink prepaid esim for my wife's new iPad Mini 7 cellular using Hotlink App itself.
Very easy, take front picture of IC & do selfie (eKYC).

all is well with the esim download & activation. I can choose the number of my desire. Saw the 5G icon in the iPad. Can surf but not sure what's the initial data allocation before we buy the passes?
but then, came along the Hotlink Login part.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to login as it requires you to keyin the 6 digit SMS OTP.

Now I just remembered, iPads CANNOT send/receive SMS or call.
Even though it has cellular capability, it can only provide DATA.

And recently, Apple Inc being genius to release the latest iPad Pro M4, Air M2 refresh & Mini 7 cellular that has esim ONLY, no physical sim slot.

After calling Hotlink hotline, agent can give the following possible solutions:

1. convert esim to physical sim back (need to go to nearest Maxis center). Put the physical sim into a iphone, login the Hotlink App from there, take out the sim, convert to esim, install in ANOTHER iPad that can use esim, then transfer into the designated iPad . - quite a useless, lengthy steps. Also, to transfer esim, need to be from iPad to iPad. Cannot be from iPhone to iPad.

2. upgrade the hotlink prepaid to Maxis Postpaid RM79, then use Maxis app that CAN LOGIN USING EMAIL instead of SMS. Agent says, for hotlink app, no option for email login yet due to security reasons??

I guess that initial RM5 prepaid registration is burnt? Looking for other cheaper alternative telcos to use in the iPad Mini 7 cellular.
I told the agent to ask Maxis to study my case here, and allow for login using EMAIL instead in Hotlink App.

Hotlink esim enabled devices

In the Hotlink website, it says among the list is the iPads. But little they know, it's not possible to login the app if iPads cannot receive SMS.

not sure even if I go to Maxis center, will they able to help to login to Hotlink App via iPads??

I am eyeing between these 2 monitors.

My typical consumption daily:

70% productivity works (Excel, Word, web browsing, Youtube)
30% PS5 console gaming

Been researching extensively on QD OLED gen 3 monitors. But being an OLED panel display, you certainly can’t avoid the dreaded BURN IN issue yes?
Although Dell gives 3 years warranty for Burn In, still it doesnt warrant confidence especially if burn in happens right after that 3 years warranty.

QD OLED gen 3 anti / minimization of burn in mechanism is proven, or it’s still questionable?

Got Close Contact No Symptom in MySj

I got automatic notification via mySJ on last monday saying i was Close Contact with no Symptom. Orange status.

I was forced to HSO (home quarantine) from 13/2-17/2.

So i was wondering, in order to change my status from Orange to Blue (Low risk), on the final day, i need to go to nearest Klinik Kesihatan or private clinic and do RTK-AG (saliva) or PCR in front of doctor, get the result and upload to mySJ?

Or i can just do RTK-AG saliva at home, then upload the result myself?

So far i am not sick.
I answered the self assessment test questions.

I probably got it from my neighbour who is positive covid. But i just helped him to buy groceries and put at gate only. No direct contact with him though.

So actually how does the ALGORITHM for us become Close Contact?

I suspected my neighbour is the one reported my name & phone number in mySJ daily reporting?

Doomsday/Bizzare Natural Disaster Prepper items

Been playing Far Cry 5/Far Cry new dawn game and i got thinking, maybe it’s time we all need to prepare to survive in case of world doomsday/total catastrophe/bizarre natural disasters?

So let’s list down what are the main important items to prepare that we can carry or if we are stuck in our house and cannot go anywhere:

Drinking water + canned dried foods
Fully charged powerbanks
Portable Mini GenSet?
Candles + lighter / matches
Battery powered / USB powered torchlights
Portable 4G LTE router
Walkie talkie
Wallet + cash
Knife/machete to defend from thieves/marauders
Sleeping bags
Camping tents?

Some of the items like 4G Lte router is assumed that the telco is still up & running. However for true doomsday scenario, i think that would be useless.

List down items that you think is important for survival until things get back to normal

So do you agree government should stop pension for government servants to sustain the country from becoming towards Zimbabwe?

Fyi, beginning 1 Jan 2020 new gov servant job intakes no longer have pension scheme, only EPF scheme. This is the good first step i think.

But the main question remains: will the new policy makers wish to kill off the pension scheme that THEY THEMSELVES will benefit it too?

AKSEM disbanded, restructured into PDRM

Implication of restructuring in public sector:

- redundant divisions/departments will be disbanded
- restructured into existing similar department
- good luck to contract staff in this disbanded department. Contract might not be renewed/terminated
- permanent staff will be absorbed/transfered to similar departments

Previously PDRM took care in guarding our borders. Then during Najib’s time, he created AKSEM back in 2015 (?). Redundant division.

Conclusion: restructuring can further save more nation’s coffer and can offer gov jobs to /ktards who are interested.
But don’t gagap skipping malay language during interview sudah. LEL

PS - need anybody working in JPA to double confirm me on the info especially for restructure exercise will need to terminate certain poor souls in government departments

Whatsapp status couldn’t send problem

I’ve been experiencing this “whatsapp status couldn’t send” problem around 9pm yesterday.

This only happens if i tried to put Image, Video or even take pictures directly using my camera.
Putting TEXT ONLY status has no problem though.

I tried the following:

1. Turn off & On back the Automatic Time Update in iOS
2. Tried resetting my phone
3. Tried turned off my phone and on again
4. Uninstalled & re-install whatsapp

My iphone 8 plus is on 14.2& Whatsapp is latest version (2.21.10.25)

All these still cannot fix my problem.
I tried to google around but still no luck to solve my problem.
Appreciate if you could share a true workaround to this problem.

Attic project

Hi guys,
I’m planning to build an attic / loteng in my middle room’s house.

Middle room orientations:
EAST - facing living room
WEST - facing my neighbour’s
NORTH - facing kitchen
SOUTH - facing entrance to my master bed room

My house is a semiD 1 storey somewhere in Kedah.

The room size is as follows (all dimensions are in feet):

Length: 12.5
Width: 10
Height: 20

Main reason is that, middle room is very high, having 20ft as opposed to other rooms (11ft height floor to ceiling).
Thus, i would want to utilize the space by splitting the room into GF (ground floor) & 1F (first floor).

My questions are as follow:

1. I’m trying to think a suitable design on how to VENTILATE the GF room. I’m thinking to ask the contractor to make a small rectangular hole & put a ventilation window (like the typical toilet ventilation window) to give room more ventilation (apart from having a 1HP inverter AC inside there).

So my question: what is the suitable size for the rectangular ventilation window size?
Or should i install an EXHAUST FAN? But that would look UGLY and will be NOISY ya?

FYI, the ventilation window will face the LIVING ROOM area in my house (facing EAST; refer to image below).

2. I want to install AC at the GF room. So in order to DRAIN OUT the condensation water, i had to resort to use a DRAIN PUMP together with the AC, where the pump will bring the water UPWARDS and towards the existing window at 1F.

AC at 1F can just direct the water thru the existing window there via gravity.
(2 ACs; one at GF & one at 1F)

So my question: which AC DRAIN PUMP model is good? Height from the GF AC to the window at 1F will be around ~4 feet.

3. Contractor quoted me nearly RM10k for this attic project.
Is this a reasonable price?

Anybody got do attic project before?
Pls do share how you guys do it.

Dlink IP Camera IR Night Vision not working

sorry i'm not sure where to ask this but here goes:

I was wondering if you guys had similar issues for DLink IP Cameras, namely DCS-942B & DCS-936L where the IR night vision filter doesn't work anymore after few years of operation?

i had DCS-942B for about 4 years now & DCS-936L for about 2 years.
surprised to see that i can't see shit in pure darkness anymore.
the camera can see in darkness via IR NV mode for about 5-10meters away (effective IR NV range)

before this, the IR NV worked flawlessly, to watch over my house when i am away.
and to add to my confusion, i had another IP camera, the DCS-5222L where the IR NV worked fine for 4 years of operation!

so what is seems to be the problem here?

checked the firmware version, all are up to date.
then i read on Dlink forums, apparently got hardware issue where the IR NV filter got stuck somehow.

so i wish to know if you got similar issues and got a practical workaround other than have to pry open the camera & do some electronics repair engineering wonders?

how to migrate Win 10 from HDD to new SSD

I am upgrading my old desktop that runs Windows 10 on HDD and wish to use a SSD for it.

I've searched and recommend to use EaseUS backup tool to do SYSTEM CLONE, but that requires me to pay the license of USD29.95 per 1 year
any other free backup softwares or other methods that you all could share?

One more thing, is 120GB SSD enough for Windows 10, taking into consideration for future Win 10 updates?

i'm thinking to get Kingston A400 120GB SSD. Is this a good & reliable buy?

couple it with TM Unifi mobile unlimited RM59 sim card, it will be the ultimate portable working machine ever! No need to worry to find for WiFi whenever you're on the road.
can view Youtube unlimited, stream Netflix unlimited while having short rest from work on the field.
