I'm pretty sure someone has uploaded a thread like this before, but here's what I managed to make.

First off, obtain a CD/DVD-ROM audio cable. Mostly found in any PC tower casing and for 99% of the time, you wouldn't use it, so go ahead and pull it out. It should look like this with a length of about 1.5 feet. The head that you will be plugging into the camera will be white one (which in the PC will be plugged onto the motherboard, NOT the end that goes into the ROM)

After which you shall cut the cable according to the diagram below. I will be using A100 as reference to any Alpha you may be using.

Now you should be able to insert the plug into your camera. If still too wide, shave off the side where necessary. The notch and gap should line up now.

The following is the circuitry for the Alpha port.

This is my soldered switch.

The red button on the left is my AF switch, which I can half press or fully press for locked focus, and on the right is the shutter trigger. I used a flip switch so that it could be used in BULB mode. If you want a more techy one, you could use a non-locking toggle switch as the shutter switch and a separate flip switch for the BULB. But considering a small switch like that costs me an average of RM5 each, I opted for the simplified one. What a rip-off, but there's no where else I could find a shop selling these things around where I stay now.

You could use a smaller sized empty film canister as the housing, but for my case, I was lazy to go look for any print shops, so I scavenged for whatever I deemed usable, which in this case, an empty Clorets dispenser.

The candle is for softening the plastic so that it is easier to cut off.

I must say, it works fine.

Cost:

Mini toggle switch - RM2.90
ON/OFF push switch (the red one) - RM5.90
CD/DVD cable - negligible
Clorets dispenser box - RM1.90 with Clorets, without Clorets, no cost
sticky tape - negligible

Total cost < RM10.00 I believe if it wasn't for the non cut throat switch suppliers, it'll even be lesser than RM5.00!
