Improving your OHP for SS or SL

Guys ,

I've just started gym'ing again after years of sedentary lifestyle since leaving uni and have chosen Stronglifts as a starter program.

It's been 4 weeks but my Overhead press hasn't budged an inch and i'm starting to get demotivated. I've started with an empty bar (20kg) but am still stuck at 25kg (2.5kg plates). I continue to fail at this (usually by the 3rd set ) and am wondering if there are any steps /training to overcome this.

Other lifts are progressing fine but this is just bumming me out ..

Getting the courage to ask a girl out

Guys (most probably to long to read but lemme vent),

Need some assist here. First off a bit about myself. 28 now and I'm generally quite shy due to not being very attractive (basically the socially inept you laugh at in school haha). Have never been in a relationship before and have just given up on the whole thing when i started working.

Then she came into my life 3 months ago. An intern 5 years younger than me with the face of an angel, the most gorgeous person i have ever seen in my life and she sat down at my desk (boss relocated me besides her).

Thing is , i wasn't initially attracted to her thinking she was just another airhead till i started talking to her. I shared knowledge about the field i'm in while getting to know her hobbies and likes. I found out she likes the same music , the same movies and shares certain interests. I've never felt happier talking to another human being (with the exception of my late grandma) than i am with her. We could just keep on chatting for hours on end to the point of getting assigned to an job would annoy me (and mind you i generally enjoy getting assigned jobs due to mileage and being on the road).

The problem now is , her internship has ended for the last 2 weeks. Being the chicken shit coward that i am i didn't even muster the courage to even tell her how i feel. These 2 weeks have been absolutely horrible and i can't stop thinking about her. My motivation is down the drain , things i used to enjoy like videogames & futsal feel empty. I was setting myself up to be a CCIE (some network cert) prior to her arrival and now i just don't give a damn anymore despite having another year to achieve it based on managers target.

How do i forget about her ? Get her out of mind for good.

Or should i call and tell her how i feel. Everytime i see her on MSN i'll just make small talk and leave. I just wanna pick up the phone but i have no idea what to even say.

I wish she hadn't come into my life.

Anabolic Gym Aman Suria

Hey Guys ,

Anyone here a member of this Gym ? It's at Aman Suria. I'm currently looking for a gym but being a total noob i was kinda intimidated by the setup they have in there. It didn't help that the only guy that the only person there was the Juice Bar attendant (i guess) and he wasn't too helpful with details (i was there around 4pm , hehe skip office early).

The reason for my interest is my current disenchantment with the trendier gym clubs and would like to try a smaller but more focus gym like this. I'd like to know the experiences of others before commiting rm1.2k to this (sadly no monthly fees from what i understand).

Need to get stronger so my teamates stop teasing me about always needing help when mounting equipments

Can't reconnect automatically to Streamyx

These few months back , i seem to be having an issue where my Streamyx line disconnects (usually at night when i'm dloading) but doesn't automatically reconnect like it used to.

Checked my router settings and the keep alive connection is the same (Linksys router + modem combo).

Status on the router is usually :

"Cannot connect to PPPoE" or "Cannot authenticate with PPPoE server".

It's getting really frustrating and every time i complain to TM they keep blaming the router.

Anyone can confirm this ?

Upgrade from a e6300 to an e8400 (with RAM added)

Hi Guys wanted your opinion on this. Would upgrading from an e6300 c2d with 2GB DDR2 6400 to an e8400 with 2x2GB 6400 RAM have any noticeable difference ? Also planning on getting Vista 64bit if worth it

Current specs is :

e6300 (stock)
Gigabyte p965 ds3 revision 1
Corsair XMS 2
ATI 4850 512MB
Windows XP home

Saved up some cash but am currently wondering if it was worth it for an upgrade. Planning to play Fallout 3 and Crysis with it once it comes out.

Teach me how to do a proper deadlift

HEllo Guys,

Was wondering if anyone can give me any pointers when doing deadlifts. I'm a bit confuse on the negatives part , should i release the weight on the floor thus removing all tensions , or should i still hang on to the barbell then make my way back up for another rep?

Also , just how far apart do you keep your legs when doing it?

Just asking cuz different people i meet at the gym , even the PT's have differing opinions (Thank god i'm not at Celeb anymore , they'll tell you deadlifts are detrimental, bah )

8800GTS for RM1399 offer .. Some questions

I went to Compuzone yesterday i glanced through the priceguide. It states an offer for 8800GTS for rm1399. I would like to know if it's for the 320 MB or the 640MB vesion.

I asked the question to Czone staff and they seems so blur , telling me only got GTS and GTX version , even stating that both had 512 mb ram. aisehh

Because if rm1399 for 640mb version i'm getting it ASAP

If only Czone staff knew more about the product. Won't even let me see the box

What Cisco cert to take ?

Hello people ,

Wanna ask your opinion. If you're already CCNP certified and have been given a chance to take another Cisco cert for free (bonded for a year , of course) , what would you take?

The thing is , my job scope currently requires me to do config/implement cisco routers/switches , set up firewall (but only minor, my seniors won't let me touch the main ones), team leader to implement Callmanagers and IP phones (have Ericsson IP phones and MD110 systems too).

Basically when it comes to Cisco products , even though my company is a small one , un campus, i've been given a chance to sample a lot of things. So after completing a major upgrade project , the vendor has offered training courses and exams for the following :

CCIE (general is guess but i'm not interested, but my seniors are just the same)
CCVP
CCSP
CCIP
CCDP ,

I'm leaning more towards voice, since i'm the team leader, but will CCVP still be viable , especially with the new syllabus change (CCNP will incoperate voice and wireless). But the rest sounds interesting.

What would you take?

Vomit during workout

Anyone here ever during their workout session? I know it's embarrasing but it happened to me on my previous session. I honestly don't know what came over me. It's on my first sets of exercise somemore. Aiihh. I just finished bench pressing and all of a sudden a feeling of dizzyness came over me and i hurled all over the floor. Damn.

Anyone had this problem before? What triggered it? I thought it was fatigue but i've never had this problem before.
