Looking for drivers for Compaq Presario V3337TU

Greetings,

I have been handed over a newly reinstalled (WinXP Pro SP2) Compaq Presario V3337TU laptop but without any OS or driver CDs.
Now I'm having a hard time figuring out what devices are there inside the laptop... It's Intel Core Duo btw (if this may help)

I have been to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...3432933&lang=en
but the drivers set seem incomplete (esp the network card driver set).

Does anybody care to provide me with a full set of drivers, or at least tell me what parts so that I can start searching on the web?

PSU overloaded?

i just bought an old PC with the following spec and a new PSU

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (socket 939)
MSI NF6100 mobo
1 x 1GB DDR PC3200
eVGA 6800GS
2 x 7200rpm HDD
1 x LG 20X DVDRW
CoolerMaster Extreme 460W (new)
2 x 90mm + 2 x 120mm

all running stock.

when i turned the power on nothing happened.
i sent the PSU for RMA and was told that it's been overloaded

what i thought was that my spec is relatively low end and the new CM 460W PSU should be more than enough?
can someone enlighten me pls...?

Why steel strings always get rusty

hi all, i'm using an accoustic steel string guitar and the strings tend to get fairly rusty after about a month of usage and causes pain to my fingertips. the rusty part is across the fretboard, esp the thinnest first 3 strings. is this normal as in i need to change all the 6 strings every 1-2 months of usage?

btw my palm sometimes gets a little sweaty after a while of playing... is there any way to prevent the strings from going rusty (so fast)? i forgot the brand of the strings, it's not Taylor but the seller told me it's branded and it's fairly okay for a beginner like me...

any comment is appreciated. =)

Graphics Card and Video Encoding

I am wondering, what is the role of graphics card when it comes to video encoding tasks. I know video encoding depends heavily on CPU, but does a better graphics card help? Also what about more RAM? (helps in editing or encoding, or both?)

If a better graphics card does help, then which card/chip is suitable to be coupled with, say an entry level C2D E6420 with 2x1GB DDR2-667?

EDIT: Sorry for not making this clear... Video is captured in digital format (MPEG) so no digitizing (capturing) process is needed. Encoding refers to the encoding process after video editing (cutting + sound end effects) into MPEG 1 and 2.

recently one of my female fren is looking for a new notebook. sadly enough, i'm more concerned about performance instead of design all this while. so it's hard for me to recommend one when she suddenly asked me.

so people, kindly suggest me any notebook tat is pretty and suitable for a gal, i'm just off track of wat's available in the market now...
