Laptop slowed down after format and restore

As the topic says... i just went to format and restored my laptop
which is a dell inspiron 1440
after the restore... when i used it.. it was just fuc*ing'ly slow....
when i want to open a folder.. i have to wait for about 2-3 minutes.....
and the harddisk starts to spin very loudly...
pls sifu help

Hi..im new to photography..cuz im more into music.. but in my tennis team.. i need to take pics of the players playing.. so i need to find a camera that can take pictures while something is moving.. (well i dont know how to explain)
