dating sites that Malaysian girls actually use?

Wondering if any of you have suggestions for dating web sites that have a lot of Malaysian girls on them or are even exclusively for Malaysians. Also looking for any suggestions about the best ways to meet Malaysian girls in general. I am an American guy living in Penang.

problem with my hill mynah

I have to leave Malaysia for around a month on Monday. The problem is I do not know what I can do about my pet Mynah bird. I am willing to give him away for free, but what I would rather do is find someone to take care of him for a month or come to my house once every few days and replace his food and water. As a foreigner I do not know how most people do things.

My local pet store says they cannot take him because I don't have a permit/license for him. I did not know one was needed, but apparently it is. So I'm looking for any advice or suggestions anyone might be able to offer. If anyone would like a free (hill) mynah bird and you live in the Penang area and are willing to drive to Tanjung Bungah to pick him up please let me know. He is known locally as a Tiong Mas. He seems to be an excellent talker and seems to enjoy trying to mimic me. He can be loud at times, but he's usually quiet. He's only semi-tame and is afraid of people but sometimes perches on my arm or shoulder. I am posting here and not in the pet or adoption thread yet just because of the short time. This is an emergency situation. So I'm trying anything and everything I can think of to save the life of this lovely bird.

If I cannot find someone to take care of him for me by Monday I'll have to either set him free and hope he won't starve or get eaten or keep him in my house and try to set up a sort of fountain in the bathrooms by letting a tap drip into buckets or a cascade of buckets or something like that. Food is not as big a problem although if I just leave it out the rats will probably eat most of it. AFAIK he's been a pet bird his whole life and doesn't know how to survive in the wild. I could easily see him hiding on the ground and getting eaten by a local cat. His wings are not clipped and he can fly pretty well but he seldom seems to perch high up. Usually preferring to just sit on the ground. But maybe he would fly into the treetops if he were just released outside. Then I'd just worry about him finding food.

edit: I found someone to adopt him. I'm so glad. I was so worried about him. Now it looks like he'll be okay. Caged, but alive.

should I study Chinese?

I'm an American moving to Penang. Is there any point to my studying Chinese? I'm thinking if I at least learned some Chinese characters it might help ordering from Chinese only menus. Would I have to study Hokkien or would Mandarin or Cantonese still be useful? Right now I'm just wondering if I should bring any English - Chinese dictionaries or other Chinese (Mandarin) learning materials with me. The argument against studying Chinese is that there aren't going to be many Malaysian Chinese whose English is going to be worse than my Chinese would be. Aside from reading menus is there any use at all to knowing some Chinese in Malaysia? Are there any Malaysian Chinese people at all whose English isn't that great so that my knowing some Chinese might be useful?
