Need Help with Laptop

Hi,i have been using this ARIS laptop for the last couple of years (4 years i think)..
anyway this morning lightning struck my router around 6ish and my laptop got struck as well..
weird thing is i can still start up my laptop but the screen says 'can't boot up from harddisk'

any idea on how i could fix the problem?
could the harddisk still be saved?as i have my half-way-done assignments in it..
and how much would the cost be to replace one or fix it?

Lost new road tax sticker

hi,
my brother helped my aunt to renew her road tax at the post office earlier today.
The problem is he dropped it while walking back to the car without realising it.
So now my question is,does he have to repay again or he can get a replacement for it?

hey,recently i bought a pair of shoes from someone in Perth,Australia..

he shipped the item through AirMail last monday(10th Sept 2007) and i haven't receive them till today. How long does it take USUALLY for the item to arrive in KL from Perth through AirMail and is it true that AirMail doesn't provide any tracking system (tracking number or something) in order to track the status of the parcel?

finally,what if my item does not arrive?is it insured??
