Lightweight laptop with DVD player

I'm looking to buy a new lappy, preferably mobile and light one (<2kg)

I need a built-in DVD drive. However, I notice that most of the ultra-light laptops on the market come without built-in DVD drive (or they give external DVD drive which i don't want).

I miss those old days I could get lightweight laptop with DVD player easily and now the trend has changed.

Does anyone has recommendation? Criteria: <2kg, smaller screen ok, non-touch screen ok. <RM3,000.

how to deal with recruiter/headhunter

I'm looking for a job in the region, but will most likely consider moving next year. I notice that job-hunting process can take quite some time. Should I send my CV by then or start doing now?

I also saw a lot of ppl linkedin profile got a bunch of connections from headhunters, should I initiate connections with recruiters already or this will look very desperate?

How does trading limit work?

Currently my broker gives me 1X cash collateral for trading limit only.

But i heard CIMB offers. 3X cash collaterial. So how does that work?

Eg: If I have $5000 of cash, so I can trade up to $15,000 rite? But since the $10,000 is not mine, when do I need to pay the $10,000? Is it based on T+3?
Or I can hold on to the $15,000 position so long as my holding value doesn't drop?

Hopefully sifus here can shed some light.

Singapore Vs HK

Tired of working in KL and also looking for a better exposure, I'm planning for a career move to Singapore/HK. I know it's never easy to land a job in both places. So i'm starting this thread, hoping to get some opinions.

I graduated about 5 years ago from a foreign uni, not top-tier like Ivies/Oxbridge but sufficient enough to ring a bell for many. I have about 5 years of working experience in financial industry. My preference leans towards an analyst role in fund management (PE, hedge fund, asset management etc) firms. I'm fluent in Chinese (speak/write) and I'm also pursuing CFA exam.

So my questions:
1) Considered the stiff competition in both places esp on roles I'm seeking for, what's my best way to search for a job? I have tried responding to some job ads and sending my resume once in a while these few years but to no avail.

2) What's the expected salary I should put on my CV? or should I not putting any at all?

3) My salary is not high here, but it's adequate for me (single, not much family commitment) to live a quite comfortable life. I pay rental and car instalment monthly, and my expenses range about 2.5k to 3k per month. I know both Singapore/HK are having very high living standard esp rentals cost a bomb. However, I find food is relatively cheaper compared to KL. So, what is the minimum salary in each place I should expect to live a similar lifestyle?

4) Both cities are fast-paced. So far, from most of my friends I know that work in Singapore, they keep complaining about no work-life balance, very boring lah, very pressure lah....How is working in HK like? How similar/different in term of culture compared to Singapore?

Hope any sifus here can enlighten me

With or without agent for home buyers?

I'm thinking of investing in properties. But actually I'm quite new.
So want to ask sifus out there, what is the pro/cons buying through agent?
I'm thinking of mayb dealing directly with owners. Would there be a lot of hassle?
