Peugeot 308 CKD

We all have seen the CBU version of that hothatchback 308, and it amazes in all aspect. well, it amazes me! and at the same launching function, Naza said they gonna bring in CKD version (by Nasim) which many predicted to be officially out by the earliest of 2009.

I've fallen in love with it. dont care whether it is first sight love or monkey love, but i just love the way it is. rumours that it CKD 308 will be priced at 80-85K (non premium version), thats a great selling point too for me. and with me getting my first wheels within this coming few months, definitely this 308 is on my consideration list.

i've not seen the CBU one, has anyone got any touch on it? is it as big as the Latio? since PSA and Nissan is kinda related in some ways? i've been googling on utube, and from what i can conclude, its more or less the same size as the Latio (by 'scientifically' observe the model's height and the rooftline level.lol)

i might wanna go and have a peek at their gurun's assembly line since my old man's house quite nearby. (any discount or not if buy straight at factory? )

anyone goin for this frenchie?

ps- whats with me? i'm like a monkey and targetting small cars i.e swifts, this 308, latio hatchback, mini ...

Need Advice: My Medium PC Set-up To Be

Hi there all sifus and friends,

I am getting a new workhorse cum mid end gaming PC very soon and already asked nearby shop to give me quotation based on what i've need. I am having an AMD based PC (due to its cheaper pricing and no longer heat issue as it was last time) and a mid end GC for my mild gaming addiction.

So the shop come up with these specs, which largely what i've asked them to include:

AMD Athlon X2 AM2 6000+ (3.0GHz)
Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 AMD AM2 Motherboard
Kingston 2GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM (2GB x 1)
Seagate 320GB SATA HDD
PS2 Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse
ATX Mini Tower Casing (2 USB & Audio Jack Front)
Geforce Nvidia 9500GT 512MB/128Bit
Benq 22 Inch LCD Monitor Model T2200HD

and they quoted me at RM1850 including labour. however, i do need some opinions on the bolded items.

i've been on gigabyte website and forums (tomshardware, hardwarezone, etc. etc) to check out on this motherboard and it not so bad except that it only has 2 DDR2 slots. anyone has any experience on this gigabyte motherboard? if the problem is all about upgrading capability, i think thats not a big concern to me.

the second is that Graphic Card selection. initially i asked to include ATI's 4670 because i've checked online and it completely trashed 9500. and also it does not need any adjustment on the PSU. the shop insist that if i need to pay 50RM more to stick to original spec (4670 instead of 9500GT) and i think i will. am i right on this?

and also, i asked them about changing my T2200 to E2200 as the E got HDMI input (however, need to top up like 30RM more on this. they say the price is not the same. but i checked online stores, the prices same what..!!??!!)

is there any particular benefit if i decide to switch to E2200? with the HD card on?

if those changes are to be made, they say the price is gonna be RM 1930 (including labour). which i think a very good price. given that they give 1 year warranty on parts.

any opinion is all welcome. and i really appreciate that.

SA giving Freebies

when u buy or intend to buy new vehicle, the dealers will always offer some freebies to temp you. Some may got like limited time lower interest rate or petrol bonus or cash rebate.

last time, petrol bonus was very popular due to increase of fuel worldwide. now i see the pattern of SA offerring limited time lower interest rate or cash rebate. some would just jumpe to cash rebate which they will deduct at the downpayment. some might choose lower interest rate, but with a catch - it must be within certain months of payment. well, this way oso will save u some money but within the long duration of payment months.

however, i came across a suzuki dealer at Sunway Carnival Mall Penang just now, and here the list he offerred me for a 1.5A Swift:

1) Tinted Voucher RM 300 - typical, but i dont think this range of price for tinting will 'help' u a lot. V cool cost like over 1K, right? and V cool will never get u flag by the police...
2) Sandblasting - donno how much it cost but to be honest, i dont really care.
3) 8" Top Piece Tinted - this one, Kedai Abang oso can do what?
4) Suzuki Limited Free Gift - which he did not answer what is that. he said it might be t-shirt, or a cap, or simply something like a key-chain.
5) Full Tank Oil - he wrote this one on the piece paper he gave. i think he meant full tank petrol. this is good. i guess?
6)perfume - this is the most unbelieveable of all. a perfume? he didnt answer what brand or how much. 50ml? 100ml?
7) Umbrella - heemm... i was thinking of that item (4) once he utter this one
8) Touch and Go RM 50 - this is good. thats it

and (9) sweet deal of taking my 8 years old 850 EX kancil for 10K downpayment and that he can arrange for the car to be deliver by the end of this month. which is a bit .... unrealistic? he said 3 days for getting the loan approved. 3 days for the car to be registered+ getting my kancil for evaluation of bank (downpayment).

surely he is superfast SA. but i know that deepavali is coming and banks dont open on weekend, right?

how about you guys? any mind boogling freebies offered?

btw, he's giving me 2.85% interest ( Eon Bank) but must pay within 84 months. that interest is only until this month. or i can take a 1500RM cash rebate.

i am worried about AMD performance on gaming part, but i dont think i kinda people going non stop on Crysis or MSG4. i am sort of person on sports game i.e football, rugby, grid, etc. etc

but using intel instead of amd, the cost gonna be atleast 200-300 more.

any sifu giving me advice here? purpose of PC - sports gaming, working, the usual multimedia things

got water inside headlamp

sifus,

i notice my headlamp got water inside. there are 2 visible scratches on the headlamp cover and i suspect thats where the water went into. but when i tried to poke into them, just to know whether trully got space for water to go inside, there is not visible break of the plastic whatsoever

btw, the level of water inside headlamp is like 1/20. and headlamp still working fine.

how to empty my watered headlamp? thanks.

MODDED XBOX 360

hola...2 days ago i went to sungai petani shopping centre (CS) and i came across this XBOX 360 - level 4 or 5. cant really remember the shop but, they also sell computer CDs as well as accesories for consoles.

I asked the two young seller, whether the 360 can play pirate CDs or not..(having browse several console sites, I am expecting them to say 'CANNOT') but to my shock, they said the ones they are selling is modded ones! wahhh...

Is this true that XBOX 360 can be modded? In case anyone interested, they are selling the console for RM2K complete with wireless controller..

ps- the shop do not accept any credit card, otherwise I might be stucked with the 'modded XBOX'..heheheheh. cheeerrs!

NEC Semiconductor

Yesterday, people from NEC Semiconductor called and inform me to attend a short-listed interview. The post is FMD engineer.
I tried to Google FMD engineer, but from what i found, FMD means 'foot and mouth decease' ?!??!!?
whats the connection between 'foot and mouth decease' with a semiconductor company like NEC?
If any one ever accept this 'FMD engineer' or knows the real job description, please help me. Is there any hint on what to know or anything related to the interview?

btw, the interview is on next wednesday at their plan at Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor.
