Boutique Financial Institution

Dear all experienced/inexperienced forumers, and perhaps, the I-Bankers,

I'm about to join one of the local boutique financial institution in Malaysia ( Kenanga, MIDS, etc.). Can anyone share their experiences on the prospect wise in term of training, promotion, exposure? Also, I would like to know if joining a boutique firm is a wise choice. As you may know, the management associate programme offered by those banks (CIMB, Maybank) does not guarantee a final position in Investment Bank arm as I was unsure about their expansion plan (I assume they invested more heavily on consumer banking for fresh graduate). Also, can someone shed some light on the starting salary for these boutique firm?

Thanks ya!

How can Iskandar sustain?

With so much upcoming developments, and most of them are condominiums, service residences, SOHO, SOFO, SOVO, stc.
Do the local JB lang really purchase one of these developments?
If so, how many of them, as in % of working population, are really purchase for own stay?
Based on my conservative calculation, there are more than > 10000 units are scheduled to complete within this five years.
This is a huge amount as in Malaysia history, we do NOT experience such booming in property sector in any major city in Malaysia before.
Well, personally, I don't think JB can sustain such booming and this may leads to a heavy slump when the bad times come.
Just my 2 cents. Don't flame me please!

You are welcomed to share your thoughts!

Anyone had this experience?

Hi guys,

I've booked a unit recently. 12k booking fees. My loan is under review now, hopefully it can be done by this week. However, I've just find out the layout of another unit of the same project is better and I was thinking to change from my current unit to that one. If so, can I just change to that unit without my booking fee being forfeited? Any sifus can share some experience here before I deal with my agent? My agent is kinda lousy, as he just tookover the sales of this project. Thanks

UPDATE:
The booking fee is paid to developer but I'm not dealing directly with the developer's agent. The agent I dealing with is developer newly appointed agent and he is not informative and helpful at all.

So far, I've only signed the booking form and the agent told me I can get back all my booking fee if my loan rejected.

As this project has been launched for about a year, the layout and flooring left is limited, so I turned out to be a liitle bit picky, as it is around RM1000psf.

Is there any possibilities that I can change unit without booking fee being forfeited? Deal with agent? Deal with the sales office of the developer? Any idea?
