Hello to all sifus,

First of all, I'm totally noob in Linux area. I want to get a desktop for my home usage, I've already own macbook but need desktop for longtime run. So I have 2 option here either build desktop with Linux OS or get a Mac Mini. I did not like windows os. So my question is as below:

1. Does Linux need specific hardware to enable it install?
2. Does Linux can serve my purpose of Thesis such as (web browsing/writing/editing/programming for Android)?
3. Does Linux is suitable for Apple environment because I'm using iDevices?
4. My budget to build desktop is around 2K for this Linux Desktop.

I'm thinking to buy the Mac Mini, which model that you all suggest (either new or 2nd hand IDC). The Mac Mini can upgrade the RAM with is the RAM is not soldered. I heard, the new model mac mini cannot upgrade the RAM.

The Mac Mini will be use for developing Androids Application, how many RAM is suit enough for that. Thank you in advance

As tittle above, I'm using bootcamp to boot on windows mode. I'm on windows 8.1. Nowadays, I'm develop Android apps by using Android Studio. I'm use windows mode just for "coding, testing, implementation" and "web browsing", nothing hardcore such as: gaming, multimedia etc.

My question is, does it will damage my macbook if I'm too often in bootcamp (windows)? Secondly, sometimes I can hear my macbook fan running so loud, although I'm just use for coding in Android Studio. I'm afraid to often in bootcamp (windows) will damage my macbook hardware.

Scamming Seller (iPhone 5)

Hello all,

As stated as above tittle, those happen yesterday when I want to buy iPhone 5 for my GF at this shop (Cant't tell the name). The situation as below:

1. I'm asking want to buy "New" & "Original" iPhone 5.
2. He said yes, and ask me to give DEPOSIT RM 50 before he take the item (Starting to feel something fishy).
3. I'm insists & ask him to bring the item first because I want to look at the box. He argue, but agree to bring the item.
4. He bring the item & I knew the item is not new, it's recon.
5. NO Apple Warranty. Which means it's shop warranty (What a tricky seller).
6. I'm humblely & properly saying that I don't want to buy it.
7. At this point, the seller starting to rise his voice & raging on me because I don't want to buy it.
8. Since he acting like that, its rise my awareness that item is recon. (The act of seller show he didnt honest to me).
9. I'm say sorry that I can't buy, and go away and bought at other shop and love it

P/S:

1. First of all, I'm make this thread is Not to ruin Lowyat shop reputation, because most my Gadget bought from there & some seller is polite and nice
2. I'm open this thread to share my experience & whoever want to buy item please aware the item and do some research on the item that you want to buy.
3. I'm just want to know is there any ways to report that shop ? Such as Lowyat management department or something else ?
