Greetings,
Need some help as I have recently upgraded some of my pc components and is unable to boot with the soundcard installed.
My specs:-
i7-3770K (New) from i5-2400 (Old)
Asrock Z77 OC Formula (New) from Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 (Old)

Carried over from my previous build:-
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel 520SSD 120GB
Asus GTX670DC2 Top
Asus Xonar DX Soundcard Soundcard Link
CM 800W Silent Pro Gold PSU

Now here's the problem:-
Whenever the soundcard is installed, windows will not boot and stuck at windows logo screen (left it for 1 hour and nothing)
However when the soundcard is removed windows will boot up as per normal.
FYI, I have installed a fresh copy of Windows 7.

Troubleshooting steps taken:-
1. Resit the soundcard and ensure that all connectors are in place.
- Same results.
2. Tried other PCIE X1 slot & PCIE X16 (end slot of the motherboard).
- Same results.
3. Windows repair using CD.
- Windows detected new hardware (soundcard) is installed and instruction was to remove the hardware (soundcard).
4. Checked BIOS.
- BIOS show that the soundcard is installed as PCIe to PCIe.
5. Install the soundcard into my old system.
- Works like a charm, no problem what so ever.

Now I'm wondering if its hardware compatibility problem. Any opinions, feedback or further troubleshooting steps are greatly appreciated.

[WTA] PC Components from USA

Hi All,
My friend is coming back from US, he's telling me pc components are cheaper in USA as compared to here. Just want to confirm if pc components purchase from USA can be used here. Concern that due to voltage difference will burn or fry the pc components during power "ON".

Malaysian voltage 240v 50Hz
USA voltage 120v 60Hz

Looking into purchase:-
1. RAM - G. Skills
2. Motherboard - ASUS Maximus V/ EVGA Z77 FTW
3. CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i

LGA1155 Motherboard Recommendation

Hello to All,
Need some recommendation & advise.
Firstly, my current setup:-
MOBO: ASUS P8P67 LE Link
GC: Sapphire HD6850 X 2 Crossfire, 1@X16, 1@X4

Now here comes the issue/ problem:
I bought a PCI-E (X1) Sound Card (Asus Xonar DX). Tried to install the card BUT the motherboard does not detect it. Found out that if Crossfire is enable the PCI-E (X1) slot will be disable and there is no way to enable it cause it is sharing the same bandwidth with the PCI-e (GC) slots.

Solution:
1. Buy a better single card GC or equivalent to HD6850 X2.

2. Buy a motherboard that supports Crossfire/ SLI & PCI-E (X1) for Sound Card.

So, I have decided on option #2 as it is an opportunity to upgrade my motherboard to Z68 chipset.
I have gone though ASUS, ASROCK & MSI website on Z68 motherboards. Some of the website indicates the PCI-e X16 is sharing bandwidth with PCI-E X1, as such the PCI-e will run at X1 mode only......blah blah blah, very confusing

Bottom Line:
Please recommend a Z68 motherboard which can do the following:
Support Crossfire or SLI running at (X8, X8) or (X16, X4) as well as can used the PCI-E (X1) for the sound card.

All suggestions & recommendations are welcome.

Graphic Card Power Issues

I have recently purchase a graphic card which requires two 6-pin power from PSU. BUT my current PSU only has one 6-pin to connect to it. My question is do I need to purchase another new PSU (which I don't have the money now) or is there a way to somehow power up the GC using my current PSU.

PS: Did not check the power requirements for new GC before purchase, now stuck with this few options.
