First revealed at the Spike Video Game Awards in 2010 under the working title SSX: Deadly Descents, the game's trailer appears to show a much darker direction to the series than previous entries, and will include the use of real locations, rather than the fictional courses of past games. EA Sports plans to reveal more about the video game at the E3 Expo in June.

Gameplay

In SSX, players take on the role of a member of a team seeking to snowboard down a variety of real-world mountains, such as in the Himalayas and the Antarctic. Gameplay will include helicopter drops, avalanches, and the use of wingsuits. On June 3rd, EA released the first gameplay trailer since the first trailer in 2010 on GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley. The trailer released for the 2011 E3 convention confirmed the return of SSX veteran Mackenzie "Mac" Fraser.

Recent footage released on 5 June 2011 shows pre-alpha gameplay. Shown in the footage are helicopters, objectives, a new turquoise User Interface, much more extensive maps with increased graphical innovations such as improved shadowing and snow-spray, the return of the "combo" system allowing the build-up of trick points, commentary, dialogue, races, trick point competitions and graffiti.
The end of the video shows the outlines of ten characters, four of which have been previously confirmed and recorded in-game (Elise Riggs, Mac Fraser, Kaori Nishidake and Moby Jones). This alludes to six more characters being unveiled prior to the game's promised release in January 2012.

Characters

Original SSX veteran Elise Riggs was the first playable character to be revealed and was so on May 27, 2011 via a comic strip along with a short gameplay video. Mackenzie "Mac" Fraser, also an original SSX veteran, was revealed on June 2, 2011 with his reveal trailer. And on June 6 during E3 2011 the third original SSX veteran Kaori Nishidake was revealed. On June 9, 2011 on Facebook Moby Jones was revealed as a returning character. On May 27, EA SPORTS released a comic strip on the character Elise online, has continued to release more comics on returning characters based on time or the amount of likes the EA SPORTS SSX page earns on Facebook social networking site.

Official Website
Developer: EA Canada
Publisher: EA Sports
Platform: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Release date: 14 January 2012
Genre: Sports
Mode: Single player, Multiplayer

Redefining the franchise, SSX pits riders against both mountain and man. Players explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team travels the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them. From the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade. And the mountain isn't the only danger players will face. In SSX the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it..

Gameplay

In SSX, players take on the role of a member of a team seeking to snowboard down a variety of real-world mountains, such as in the Himalayas and the Antarctic. Gameplay includes helicopter drops, avalanches, and the use of wingsuits. The mapping and level design for SSX will be different from previous entries in the franchise, featuring more open world gameplay and fewer barriers or invisible walls. EA Canada used geotagging data borrowed from NASA to generate 28 mountains from about nine existing mountain ranges around the world. This data was only used as the basis for the level design, and the developers created their own terrain on top of it. Players will be able to use helicopters to travel to various locations on the individual mountains. The game features mountains from the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, Patagonia, Antarctica, the Alps, Africa, the Himalayas, Siberia, Japan, and New Zealand. Footage released on June 5, 2011 showed pre-alpha gameplay. Appearing in this and subsequent footage were helicopters, objectives, a new turquoise user interface, much more extensive maps (with increased graphical innovations such as improved shadowing and snow-spray), the return of the "combo" system allowing the build-up of trick points, commentary, dialogue, races, trick point competitions and graffiti.

While all mountains will be available in regions outside of North America at release, Mt. Fuji will be exclusive content only on the PlayStation 3 in North America, and a pre-order exclusive in the United Kingdom. The game includes an online pass, but EA will take an approach similar to Homefront. While access to online multiplayer will not be restricted, players will not receive any credits for their online performances on Global Events without the online pass.

Characters

Team SSX consists of the best and most cutting edge riders on the planet. Each individual rider brings a unique skill-set with them that SSX sees as invaluable. These riders have spent years crafting their skills to razor sharp perfection, either on the pro circuit known as The Tour, or privately; they are all, each one of them, trend setters, mavericks, record holders and champions in the world of snowboarding.
Just wondering how can I reformat my old BB because I have this old Storm 9500 which I bought 2 years ago and I'm thinking of selling it. I tried to format from the settings through the phone but it doesn't seem to delete everything, and I can't seem to clear my call logs too. It kept on saying Java error or something. Hope you guys can help .
