Lagging in old games

Hello there,

I'm having problem with my new built computer.

The problem is, I couldn't play Command and Conquer : Kane Wrath smoothly even at lowest setting (1600x900). And this is so not acceptable

But, I could run other games such as Battlefield 3, Need For Speed Shift 2, Warcraft, Modern Warfare 3 smoothly @ high setting

All games and software are original and officially paid and registered.

I've already updated Microsoft DirectX version through DirectX Run Time from Microsoft.
I've already updated to the latest and even the previous version of AMD Catalyst.

But nothing works. Even my friend's PC with integrated graphic could run the CNC Kane Wrath smoothly, same goes to me if I use Intel HD1000 graphic

Computer is still clean. No 3rd-party software except Corel Paintshop Pro X4, GPU-Z, CPU-Z, HWMonitor, Steam, Rainmeter and Avira Premium Anti-Virus.

Temperatures are fine. HD7-series GPUs temperatures are the lowest compared to its competitor and G850 is running at 30-32c (Idle) and 37-42 (Load) *AC room*

4GB vs 8GB

Hello !

Is it necessary to upgrade to 8GB of ram from 4GB ?

I'm a medium gamer which plays nowadays games at mid-high setting

Some reviews said that a computer will not use all 8GB of ram except if the computer is processing such heavy processes such as Photoshop and Sony Vegas Pro.

So, is it worth for me to add 4GB of ram or upgrade other hardware ?

Yesterday, I got a call from Idealtech telling me that they accidentally gave me the wrong model of HD7770. So then, I posted back the graphic card to them and maybe will get my new card tomorrow.

So, I forced to use Intel HD1000 (GT1) graphic which comes with Intel Pentium G850. The graphic itself is impressive. Managed to get 5.8 in gaming score

Now the problem is, before I took out the graphic card, my ram score is 7.2 but after I change to Intel HD1000 (256MB memory shared), my ram score dropped to 5.9

Is it normal? How can it dropped that much?

Ram : GSkill 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Windows : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

MSI OC Genie 2

Hello Sifus,

I'm confused on using MSI newest feature which is called "MSI OC Genie 2".

How to make it work?

I already enable OC Genie function through BIOS.
I already download Intel Management Engine (As it required to run OC Genie and overclocking)
I already download MSI Control Center through MSI Live Update 5.

The problem is, after I enable and did everything to enable OC Genie 2, my processor highest speed is only 2.9Ghz which is the same as the stock Intel speed.

Any helps? Please help me

Pentium G850 > i3 540, AMD Athlon II X4 635

Hi,

Just curious about this,

Is it true that Intel Pentium G850 performs far better than Intel Core i3 540, AMD Athlon II X4 635, AMD A8-3850, AMD Athlon II X3 455, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and even Intel Core 2 Quad Core 8-series in gaming even in Photoshop ?

And ofcourse all processors above beats Intel Pentium G850 in core sucker application/task such as compressing a file.

But, all processors above have slightly higher core clock with extra cores and threads compared to Intel Pentium G850

Intel Pentium G850 also draws way lesser power usage compared to the other competitors.

But, the problem is, Intel Pentium G850 deserves a better score in Windows Index Rating.

Problem with Battlefield 3

Hi bro/sis,

I'm having some problem with my Battlefield 3.

After 5-10 minutes of playing, it will close unexpectedly without any notice.

The game is original.

My hardware temperatures are very low. I don't think it was overheating causes this.

My computer specifications :

Intel Pentium G850 3.0Ghz (Sandy Bridge)
MSI H61-P31 G3 Motherboard
GSkill 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Sapphire HD7770 1GB Ghz Edition OC
Intel 520 480GB SSD S-ATA3 (Applications installed path and Windows 7)
Gigabyte Power Rock EX500W 80+

DirectX version : 11
GPU Driver : AMD Catalyst 12.6

My PC runing an original Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

My computer is still new, about 3 days aged.

Usually, I able to play high setting @ 1600x900p resolution with AA ad Vsync turned off without any noticeable lags. But today, it will automatically close after few minutes of playing.

Any helps?

Hi !

I just bought a new PC two days ago and it comes with Gskill 4GB DDR3 rams.

Currently, I'm using Windows 7 32-Bit (Original) and yeah, only 3.5GB are detected

Is it worth to upgrade to Windows 7 64-Bit just for that hidden 512MB of RAM?

Is it possible to change to 64-Bit from 32-Bit without any data loss? Means just change the windows without touching any of my files. If it's possible, please help me how to do it.

What are the difference between 64-bit and 32-bit in performance?

What I know is, 64-bit able to handle more RAMs and more advanced.

But, I'm worry and curious about my power supply. Currently, I am using Corsair AX850W power supply and it working very well with single HD7970 so far

My dad's company requested for a new PC and currently my dad finding two LCDs for his work.

So, let's just straight to the point. Can anyone of you intro me some perfect LCDs ? Budget is below RM1000 for both monitors

Please follow these criteria :

Prefer LCD with IPS Panel
It must be LED
It must be high in contrast
It must be FullHD - at least 1920 x 1080p
It must be 24" and above

Don't care about brand but the LCD must be decent in performance

Please state the models, brands and specifications

Hello Sifus,

I am having a problem with my primary desktop, which is still new

It always blank and stuck whenever I leave it on idle for few minutes. This is so annoying, there's no other way to solve this unless force it to turn off by pressing power button for four seconds. All my unsaved precious works are gone just like that.

Is there any ways to solve this ?

I've done :

- Check viruses and spywares
- Restore original processor clock speed
- Check temperatures - temperatures are fine -
- Re-seat graphic card, processor, coolers, rams and HDDs
- Re-connect all the wires from A to Z.
- Windows Repair
- Re-install Windows

Nothin works
