Attila Toscani, 7.5 year old Dobermann.

Last nite, our Attila saved a life. Gang of robbers entered our house she lives in, went for our mother, who was screaming. They had a huge parang [ knife ] and tried to silence her, wanting to kill her to stop her making noise. Attila our dog went for them and they didnt strike the mother. They hit her instead in retaliation, as they ran into the home. Now shes got a huge gash, cuts on her head,. but she saved mother's life.

We brought her to a vet in time, shes recovering now, just huge stitches and some wounds. And she is also an International Champion. Not just a pretty face! Thank you girl, for your bravery and love..

I think in light of recent negative news in the media on dogs and owners.. this is a great storyo f what dogs are truly like. Shes a real Dobermann, saved her owner mum life.. and got hurt also.. The parang went into her skull bone, but lucky not her brains or any major artery.Another cut very close to the eye also. Lately she is now recovering and healing.

Hi all

Anyone got any experience, review or advise on the Lenovo Y 480.. It seems to be a really good buy for the specs/price
I was quoted about RM2400 and the specs are - Intel i7 3610, GT640M, backlit keyboard too..and weights 2.2 kg which makes it quite portable too

I am looking for an all-rounder laptop - portable, can play games like D3, multi task, watch dvd, not too expensive and also can last a few years..

Some background - I have a desktop pc in use [ pentium xeon 2.3, 3gb ram, ati6450] for most work, photo editing, some gaming, etc. but i still require a laptop for portable use, some video viewing, internet, office work.
was using an Ibm x60 [1.5kg] for years until the lcd kaput.

i want something which is faster than that old X60, but can handle multi tasking too. ram - 2gb is fine, i can always upgrade in future, so too the HDD space. keyboard - back lit is best.. so can use in dark.. but not many offer that option i guess. optical drive - guess not so important, most of us use thumb drives now. OS - i can 'buy' and install myself.

ive not used amd chipset for laptops before, not sure their reliability and performance.

i like the Asus U32U cos of its weight and ease of carry and price is now like 1500 i think. thats my max budget, actually over-shot. and its also using the E450.. [ hope thats a decent chipset]

cheaper options will be the Asus K43 [E450] , X44H [B815], Lenovo G475 [ e450]- but they arent as portable

Or...Where can i find those earlier variants of the Samsung 3 series and the Lenovo Z370? Are those really much better than the U32U?

Im on a tight budget, looking for a decent laptop. For internet, watching movies, some simple photo editing, running Microsoft Office and multi tasking [ net, chat, office, at same time]
Was using an IBM X60 and Dell Inspiron 6400, all just died on me. Now finding laptop, but tight budget.. what i need is some reliability, portability [ as i travel with laptop often] and enough processing power for my needs. And battery life is plus point as I travel.

G475, AMD
G470, Celeron B815
Thinkpad Edge, E125 - any ideas on this? Looks interesting, as its portable

ASUS X44H-VX107, Celeron B815 + Intel HD2000
ASUS K43U. AMD E450

Toshiba L645 1004U - Intel i3 330M, GMA X4500HD, DOS - saw somewhere going for 1300

Or any others you can recommend?
