Temporarily Adding HDD To A New Computer

I have two hdd. Both are 1TB each. And one of the hdd got installed windows 7.

What Im trying to do is to insert both of the hdd to my friends computer for a moment to retrieve the files in the hdd. booting windows is from my friends hdd itself.

The question is, can I just install my hdd like that and copy the file happily?? Or will there be any effect to my hdd after install it(such as I cannot use it with my pc anymore.etc2)

Do you understand what Im trying to explain??

i just bought my new hard disk ministation 500gb buffalo.

Unfortunately, everytime i try to transfer any files into my external, laptop will hang for about 3-4 minutes and then it will show blue screen. It is saying the physical memory dump or whatever.

My laptop is aspire 4741g.

Any idea why this sort of things happen to me??

i have update all my driver. my laptop is usb 2.0 only, but external is 3.0, is this why bsod happen??

I have a z68a-d3-b3 motherboard in a thermaltake with easy swap. The case has 7 fans, but I can only connect 3 fans only since my motherboard only has 3 fans connectors(excluding the connector that is connected to my CPU fan).

Is there like an adapter of some sort that I can buy to connect the other fan?
