Windows 7 unable to shutdown, turn on, lag badly

Not sure what happened, but it started when I returned from a 3 days trip. Everything was sort of fine then but I noticed my desktop gotten slower. It took me longer time to open firefox, my computer, any video files (Progressively slower). For precaution, I started transferring files to my external HDD and secondary drive (partitioned). And then it gotten worse, it took me over 3 minutes to load firefox, and every click will cause it to lag for 30 seconds or so. Then transferring of file turned from 30MB/s to 500kb/s. I tried to turn off my comp but it got stuck on logging off, hard reset it and it got stuck on the windows logo screen (but the logo didn't show up). Tried to reformat it but it took more than 5 hours (left it overnight), and the next morning I see it again its stuck on windows logo screen. I'm currently doing a second time formatting but I'm not sure if it will solve the problem

I'm using Intel Quad Core i7 processor, ATI Radeon HD 5850, 4gb RAM. Anyone knows what is happening? Hopefully I'm able to salvage whatever left in my partitioned hard disk Sorry if this has been posted but I'm finding difficulty searching due to too many keywords

News about price cut ... Thinking about buying xbox360 but should i wait for the price drop? Will it even affect the local market/shops here.... Like those thread shops posted in console couches?

Connection cant be made using router

Problem details
First occurence of problem: 2 hours ago
Problem frequency: Cant connect anymore
Problem description:
A moment ago i can still connect to the internet with my router, then all of a sudden it cant anymore (Router and modem lights are all stable). I tried turning on/off the modem and router but still no avail. Called the TMnet and they couldn't help saying its not their product.

(I wonder if it has something to do with the uTorrent, since there's prob with it hogging connection, the router was working until i turn on the uTorrent, and it stopped working not long after. Even if i turned off my uTorrent the router wont connect anymore)

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Note i'm a computer illiterate.

Unable to install my 2.5" ext HDD driver on comp

I can't install it in my desktop, to be honest i totally know nothing about computer (my own specs and all) and it happens i'm able to install my HDD on my laptop but cant on desktop. It seems that it automatically installs it in my C:\system32\driver instead of the driver on the HDD.

I went through the troubleshooting at Device Manager, (pop up with continue installation anyway)and all i'm still clueless, any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance, i appreciate you even spending time reading this.
