Date of transaction: 4th May 2020

Details of the complaint :

At the very first, i wanted to find someone to clean my laptop and replace thermal paste because i know thermal paste can lost its effect after years. The purpose for me to buy his service is to allow my laptop work under better temperature, prolong my laptop lifespan. The laptop i send in before is in FULLY WORKING CONDITION, no issue at all beside high temperature if gaming (which is why i have to buy his service).

Contacted him and passed my laptop on 4th May, after everything he did, he do a stress test and the laptop died. He then further troubleshoot my laptop and confirmed my cpu died. He used 2 piece of cloth to press on my cpu and gpu to determine if they are still hot. From a technical standpoint, this is just not professional. He suggest reflow cpu, which is also not a true way to fix a cpu. Furthermore he said it will take a week. I lost my trust on him and send to a professional board repair instead.

The professional inspect my motherboard and confirm to me it is a short to ground. He used a power supply measure thing and notice a very high power draw. First suspect is the IC that control my cpu power is not working/ dead. Most likely is due to static because this thing rarely died. This problem is even harder to identify because there are 30-40 cap resistor around it and have to check one by one. A fix is then perform but no avail and the technician confirmed to me it is not fixable after tried for a month.

I asked for his opinion on this case, and he told me this incident might occur is because of not following a proper SOP to discharge himself, causing static shock to my components including cpu and a responsible shop will bear all the cost if this happened. But stealth89 is in denial and says it is not his problem but my bad luck for having the laptop end its life while on his hand. He believes that his vast experience and after so many boards he been serviced, never encounter such issue, have 100% proof of doing mistake. Yes, an 18 page of good review is impressive, and thats why i trusted him before. But noone is perfect, if you mishandle my stuff, just admit it.

He said he report to lyn admin, but i dont trust him cause i received a notice that "someone" had reported my post. After i read this dispute notice, i understand admin most likely wont care for chip in their opinion. Hence, i take my initiative on making this dispute to gain my right.

I have consulted several technician who have their own shop, or technician who working in big company and have degree in electronics. The reason i consulted them is because stealth89 suggest me to do so. All of them confirm his fault and some of them are agree to stand out to give their professional opinion.

I advice stealth89 to be responsible. Blaming my laptop for choosing ending its life on your hand is laughable. It might happened if im aware my laptop is near its end of life stage like in stage 4 cancer and beg you to fix it with your knowledge and technical skill, not having a stomachache and die in your hand because bleed to death. Your claim on static shock will not occur when battery is plug off is also a joke for everyone who had studied electronics. A simple google will yield millions of results that your hand, capacitor on the motherboard, the solder you use, thermal paste, all of these have chance induce short if not handle properly. Admit that you mishandle, even if its your friend mishandle, you paid for me and claim from him. i dont care who is the party at fault because im dealing with YOU. Dont shift blame to everything else.

FAD Hope 6: One of the best mid- high headphone i ever heard at this price. Very transparent, crystal clear and big soundstange for a close headphone. Very very high rating in Head-fi.
Suitable for classical, 70's- 90's classics, musical, sweet sweet vocal and treble. Many forumers claim they regret for selling this headphone off. i will join them soon, but i have no choice.

Centrance DACport:
As this headphone only have 8ohm impedence, this DAC is one of the most suitable DAC for it. Doesnt change the sound signature but give it a overall boost, music sounds more solid and cleaner.
Able to drive mid to mid-low range of headphones like M50x, Beyerdynamic DT880 250ohm.

Box: 60%. Nothing much to comment about the glue they used. They had been complaint for this issue all over Head-fi forum
Headphone: 90%. Some cosmetic wear, earpads need a change, but Jaben Malaysia do not selling them anymore. I had look through Head-fi forum and conclude a few alternatives for buyer to choose:

FAD type C earpads : A better version of original earpads, contacted FAD in USA and waiting for their quote on price.
Shure 840 pads : A normal replacement. It can be done but no sounds improvement.
Shure SRH1540 Alcantara pads : Best pads for this headphone. Sadly not selling in Malaysia, need to buy from USA. contacted some other seller. *RM370*
Beyer DT770 Pleather pads: Shouldnt be hard to find. Jaben might still selling them.

Headbands are fine. Some might find the headphone slider is annoying. it fits me well so, maybe a rubber band fix. Design problem sadly.

Centrance DACport:
Cable,Sleve, adapter are all 99%
Dacport: 80%. To be honest, there is an issue with it where noise will be heard (through your headphone) when turning the adapter with headphone on.
Sometimes there will be background noise when cable crossover with other stuff. To solve it, just turn off the volume knob and then reset your volume back. Else plug in and out.
After that you can enjoy it whole day, until you going to use it next time. A little annoying i would say, hence with a low price.

Reason for sale:Not interested in IEM anymore Dont get me wrong, this is a really nice IEM. Wide soundstage, Crystal Clear Transparent sound. Very sweet mids and highs. Highly recommended for vocals lover who seeking for a forward and bright sound signature IEM. Some claim that it is too bright but for me it is just fine, i love it alot. Bass is not punchy enough but accurate, tight ( thanks to the BA driver), bass head might want to seek for other models

However i have to let it go because since i jumped to full size headphones i didnt touch it anymore Its a pain too see it lying in my drawer untouched, so im selling it. Price is negotiatable, no low ballers and im not that urgent to sell it.

Is dual award better?

Hi, im a utar foundation student(science in bio stream) and my cgpa is 2.96. I would like to continue to computer science but however, my cgpa is not enough for MMU which have one of the best CS. So after my searching, I think I should be able enter either KDU university or Sunway University.
So now here is my problem,

KDU offering whole course for 51k, in a whole new campus, new facilities and better hostel than Sun-U. Far from KL city so I can keep my mind focus on my studies.

Sunway on the other hand is 72k, more expensive and the hostel is worse than KDU's. But they offer dual award with Lancaster University.

Although my parents say that money is not a problem but I can feel the financial trouble if I enter more expensive university. And of course I prefer KDU which is cheaper.

So is the Lancaster University certificate inportant? Will having an extra certificate give me better salary or chances? Assume im having second upper in KDU or Sun-U , which one is better?

I would like to further my studies in USA in the future if I can. Will the Lancaster cert important too?
