when an engineer feel to turn in designer

i am 25 years old this year, a female engineer in a petrochemical industry.
Few month ago, i start to struggle to change my future career.
There are few reason for me,
(1) As a female, my stamina always not that strong as a man, my current position not to always rush in the plant site, however, most of the time running the test that required some energy to fix the machine and etc.
(2) Start to feel fatigue with current job, nobody willing to understand why, yet what they want is only result, analysis report in a short time, inspect and inspect and inspect the failure...nobody cares what it is ,as long as customer accepts whatever your finding...(it seem like a report writer than a inspector, yet i think everywhere happen)
(3) There are carcinogen substances could be inhale all the time (because i have to work!!!!), start to feel i get minor sickness very frequent (flu, fever bla bla bla, i dont know bad weather caused it or those substances?). BTW, as a female again, it is not that good to expose to this kind of enviroment and if when you plan to have a baby (it atleast need to take 3-5 years to clear your body's toxic), although i still not yet plan for it.
(4) Some other will ask, why dont you change to other factory, position? My courses is actually very related to material engineering, in malaysia, the industry that need my specialist is very limited. I could change to other line like E&E, but from my working experiences, work in factory is just like survive in hell....tension, boring and tired.
(5) My sciences sense are always much more better than my art sense....yet...i love every beautiful things. I feel like colors make life. And arts is creative, that doesnt like my plain and flat engineering life.

I am still considering to take a cert or maybe a part time degree for multimedia design or maybe graphic design.
For all those experiences designer, could you please give some advise on it? and how is the pay for this kind of job?
I not sure on the paid, as my current salary also very low about 2.5k...and seem like those graphic designer or multimedia designer can be a freelancer and extra income by take some other project easily...
