Asus ROG Strix - Slow performance + High temp

Hi all.

I have an ROG Strix that I bought a couple years ago. Haven't really used it much this year as it has been slowing down. However, I do want to start playing PC games again. I tried playing my old XCom 2 game but the performance was horrible. It literally took 5 mins from clicking the New Game start button for me to actually load into the game. I tried shutting down and restarting the laptop and the game, turned down my settings to low but performance remained the same. The laptop felt hot so I used Core Temp to get the temp: all 4 cores hit temperatures above 80C. I'm guessing that's not normal as Core Temp highlighted it in red.

I've also tried a couple other games and with similar results. Any recommendations on what I should do? My original thought was that I should get a bigger SSD so I can install my games on it and that might improve performance. But not sure that's the right problem / solution currently.

Any advice on what I should be doing? Please and thank you!

Hi there.

I'm looking to buy a new gaming laptop. The specs I have in mind are these:

Processor (AMD): Six core @ 3.2 GHz/Processor (Intel): Quad core @ 3.0 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270/Graphics Card (NVIDIA): GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory: 2 GB

These are the recommended system requirements for Dragon age Inquisition so I would like to get a laptop that at the very least can meet those specs. My budget is around RM2.5k. Can anyone give me recommendations of laptops to look for so I can scout those out at the PC Fair this coming weekend? Please and thank you!

Radiograph Repair

Hi all.
Long story short, my grandfather has some device called a radiograph. It's basically a combination of a gramaphone and a radio. Unfortunately, due to it's age, it's not working at the moment. However, my grandfather would very much like it back in working order.

I'm posting here in the hopes that someone can direct me to a shop or a person who might be able to fix it up. *fingers crossed!*

Hi all. I finally am buying my PS3. Will get it at the end of the month. I realise I'm late to the party so I would like to ask people for games that I should get.

Basically, I'm a huge fan of RPGs. My fav publishers are NIS, Square Enix and Atlus. I loved Disgaea and the games like it, Mana Khemia, FF, Shadow Hearts, Yakuza 1 &2, Suikoden, Dark Cloud, Dragon Quest, Okami and all things Megaten. Not a big fan of GTA though. I also enjoy Dragon Age, Mass Effect, XCOM etc though I prefer the PC version of those.

I have a list of games I've compiled based on my fav PS2 publishers. Not sure if all of these are good as the reviews are pretty mixed. So I would really appreciate it if other fans can give me their two cents worth and maybe suggest other good RPGs that I've missed out. Or good games in general as well. Thanks!

Screen Problem - Compaq Presario M2000

I have a Compaq Presario M2000 which is quite old. Lately, lines have started appearing on the screen. They seem magneta, cyan and yellon in colour. It started with 1 and now there are 9! It doesnt matter what window is open, the lines are always there. Even at startup. Can some1 please tell me what is causing this and how to fix it. Thank you very much!

repairing N77 touchscreen

Last month, I bought a China model N77. Than yesterday, all I did was put the phone in my side pocket and take it out and the screen was shattered! =.=''

I went back to the shop and the guy there said all touchscreens can break if put in the pocket. Is it worth being fixed? and roughly how much should it cost to repair? Thanks in advance!
