MB i dunno, MSI B75M ???? - 270 (i have faulty MSI P67A-GD65 - all rear port USB3 is no more <--- can i use this MB?)
GC: MSI HD7770/650 Ti ???? - 450
RAM: 1333 4GB x 2 - 108
PSU: Hexa 500watt - 159
HDD: WD blue 500GB 180
HSF: will use spare HSF
Case: - dunno, depends on the mobo max RM200 - with good airflow and cable management

range should be up to 1.5k without monitor

this rig is for mid lebel gaming and 1080p/HD vid

im not sure about those GCs. Difficult to find which one is better in performance within this range of budget.
Sure if i have spare money i would like to have 7850 instead. But considering it could possibly bottleneck the cpu i will go for something else.

any suggestion?

Hi all,

im looking for suggestion to help me with building a HTPC rig.
My target is to watch 1080p vid and hopefully also blu ray movies.
I prefer low consumption rig, so i choose APU instead of CPU+GPU.
Im thinking AMD A6 3500 as its cheaper and some say its more than good enough to watch 1080p. I'm also interested with the latest AMD A8 3870 but its almost twice in price.

For the Mobo i would like a mATX. ASRock A75M-HVS seems quite nice for me. It has everything i need.
For the sound system / soundcard i think i rely to the Mobo (5.1 HD audio) at this moment.
i'm planning to set the budget up to 1.5k

You guys have another suggestion?
note:this is not gaming rig

USB3 stop working after sudden showtdown

okay my system was running perfectly until i plugged in external HDD to usb3 port. Suddenly it shut down in a blink of my eyes. Then it tried to reboot but in a couple second it shut down again

I removed the usb after that, and it began to run smoothly again. I guess it was a power related problem. But somehow after that, my USB3 port cannot recognize any device plugged into it. But it still provides power. I tried another port usb3... but both are not working now . All usb2 work fine

my system:
i5 2500k
msi P67A-GD55B3
gtx560ti
fsp hexa 500watt
crappy hdd 160GB
8GB RAM
cheap mouse+keyboard+speaker+webcam

is it really power problem? i think my PSU is more than enough to power them all...

btw: i have tried to unistall and reinstall USB3 driver... no good from it

im planning to buy a new rig. Basically i have budget around 2.5k-3k but still i want to minimize the costs as minimum as possible.
So here's my idea

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K - RM655
HsF: Hyper TX 3 - RM69
Mobo : MSI P67A-C45 - RM385
RAM: Kingston Value 2x4GB DDR3 - RM132
GPU: MSI GTX560 Ti Twin Frozr II - RM815
HDD: i dont need a new one since i have a backup HDD
DVD: anything range from RM60-RM70
Case: aerocool striker-x GT - RM210, i really like the design so i wont change this part
PSU: FSP Hexa 500W - RM159, but i'm not really sure if it is decent enough
Display: anything max RM300
others: no need'
total:RM2785

okay, here's the thing. I dont really do OC that often, and won't going to do SLI.
I only use this rig for gaming and i wish i could play TESV Skyrim and BF3 with ultra/max setting with min 25-30fps .
Do you guys think this build is a bit overkill for me? Or can you give me suggestion which part i should change to minimize the costs
Btw you can also give me your build as long as you can cut down the costs as minimum as you can but still can get my wish granted
