Hey peeps.. it has been a while. it is hot, humid, and people are getting really crazy here. is it due to the stress?

Im settling down here (as in working here, haven't retired yet) and that is by choice.. but people have really changed.. as in... more rude, and more racially-biased. I have spent a few weeks here and already getting uncomfortable

What did you guys do in the past 5 years I wasn't here?

p/s in any case, the foods here is so much better, and I never planned to emigrate anyhow.. parents still old, and I have to take care of them. Will probably leave again once the time is right, but the plan so far is to stay.

Hey peeps,

I came from using a Nokia C3 and LOVED the keyboard, then I made the 'mistake' in getting a touchscreen smartphone, namely the Lumia 800. It is a GOOD phone at the price of RM800 when I bought it, but it became CLEAR that it is not for me. I need the QWERTY thumbpad.

Here is something else that you need to know about me:

1. I do not mind not having the latest gadgets, as long as it works. Lumia 800 was on its way out, I got it because it was cheap. Nokia C3 was cheap as a-s-s too.

2. I am kind of a cheapskate. I have a general rule that I wouldn't spend on a phone where it would break my heart if I lost it. Current budget should be around RM1500 (on the very high side)

3. My thumb and fingers are big and fatty. I find the Curve 8520 is easier to type on over the BOLD of the time because of how the keys are spaced.

4. I need the phone to be quick and snappy. Whatsapp on Windows Phone 7.8 is slow as snail, literally. Horrible.

5. I use the phone a lot for calling and sms-ing as not all my customers use Whatsapp. I am using an RM150 line, it has almost unlimited minutes, texts, and 5GB data

6. I do not care about games, camera.

7. Ill be tethering it to my laptop using bluetooth.

I've never owned a BB before. I have my eyes on 9320, 9360, 9790, and 9900. The cheaper the better. I would LOVE to buy the Q10 but here are my few main concerns:

1. It's new. I made the mistake of jumping onto the newish platform for Windows Phone and it was buggy and slow. I prefer tested-and-proven platforms. What do you guys really think of the BB 7.1?

2. It's blardy expensive. Enough said.

Hey guys, I am in the market for an imported refurbished car.. The problem is I do not know the interest rate that I can expect. Sorry too shy to ask the seller, dont want them to think I no money to buy the car.

The price is about RM300k, German car but I think most of these cars are being imported (unregistered car) from the UK.

Hey peeps,

Recently a bunch of Elken and Coway guys came over to promote their RO water things. I can summarize their products in one word: EXPENSIVE

But they did all those electrophoresis thing on my miskin-type filtered water and we found that there are so many "contaminants" in my drinking water. When I asked they said they are the impurities such as chlorine (they are no good?) and what not.

In most developed countries, they drink tap water that also has chlorine. No RO bullcrap at all. But these sales people keep on saying that if we keep on drinking miskin-type filtered water, we would get disease like cancer and sakit buah pinggang.

True or not? Should I get RO machine or not? RM4000 each you know.

p/s they also say that the water they have taste better. Honestly, I prefer mineral water over filtered water.

Hey guys, I need to reformat my tablet that doesnt have any DVD drive. The company said that I need to get a USB-DVD drive but:

1. spending RM120 just to restore my pc is ridiculous
2. I have a USB-IDE converter, unfortunately I cant get it to work. I think it has to be a fully USB-DVD drive.

So I am just trying my luck to see if any lyners could help me restore my pc to its glory.

Why are pickups so cheap?

Let's take models from Mitsubishi for example:

Triton (A) 2.5L Diesel Turbocharged = RM92k
Pajero Sport (A) 2.5L Diesel (Turbocharged???) = RM146k
ASX (A) 2.0L Petrol = 137k
Lancer (A) 2.0L Petrol = RM121k

Consider that all the vehicles are equipped with the same accessories. Or give and take, the best equipped car from the list above has accessories worth RM10k more than the Triton; yet if we add RM10k to the Triton, it is still the cheapest. It is also the heaviest at 3 tons (thus need more material to make), and has more expensive tires due to their size.

So why are pickups much cheaper than other 4-wheelers?

I cannot fathom as to why is the Triton RM30k cheaper than the Lancer.
Hilux and Isuzu pickups are also priced at around RM90k.

I am in the financial planning industry and I would like to ask which of the two are more valuable to my clients, academically to myself and my career, or if they are pretty much the same?

RFP, for those who do not know is only recognized in Malaysia, but it is much cheaper to earn at RM4600 for the exam fees, while with CFP it goes upwards RM10,000 because you have to go through their educational planners, no self-study.

The initiative would be carried out through the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and was aimed at allowing more Malaysians to view popular sporting activities that involve Malaysians, he said.

Rais said TV stations could choose what event they would like to broadcast and request for such programmes accordingly from the station that holds the rights.

Among the sporting events that fall under the sharing programme are the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Sea Games, Sukma, Thomas and Uber Cup, All England, BWF Super Series, AFC Asian Cup, Asean Football Federation Cup, and FIFA World Cup (semifinals and final) and English Premier League.

The events were chosen since they could help enhance integration and unity in the spirit of 1Malaysia, he said.

Maxis did not stop billing of internet service

I asked for account cancellation on March 2nd, paid all the dues, and recently i received an email with a bill of RM100+ (worth 1 and a half months).

Currently I am on the phone with Maxis CS to solve the issue. I'm thinking the Malay chap at the counter la month ago did not forward my request for a cancellation.

Now I have to go through all the hoops of bureaucracy and we all know how shitty Maxis can be when it comes to closing-account. Open account anywhere, sebelah jamban also can, but to close account have to go to their Maxis center.

i think this is rather extreme, but i feel like drivers who block the road, especially the right most lane, with their vehicles deserve their tires punctured by motorists, especially agile motocyclist who are in turn facing the highest risk of dying if crashed into these parked vehicles.
