Los Angeles (CNN) -- A southern California woman convicted of cutting off the penis of her then-husband and throwing it into a garbage disposal was given a life sentence Friday with the possibility of parole after seven years, authorities said.

Catherine Kieu, 50, of Garden Grove, California, and her husband were going through a divorce at the time of the July 2011 incident. The couple married in December 2009, but in May 2011 the husband filed for divorce, which was granted in August 2011, according to Orange County court records.

Kieu laced her husband's dinner with the sleep medication Ambien after they had an argument over a friend possibly staying with them at a later date, the Orange County district attorney's office said in a statement Friday.

When the husband went to sleep, Kieu tied his legs and arms to the four corners of the bed, and when he awoke, she pulled down his pants and severed his penis with a knife, prosecutors charged.

Kieu then threw the severed penis into the garbage disposal, turned it on and mutilated it, prosecutors alleged. Kieu then called 911 about how her husband was bleeding, and he was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, authorities said.

Weak wifi signal

Hi All,

My modem is in the living room, wifi signal is very weak in my bedroom. I am using Belkin F7D1401 and I have another modem (Innacomm W3100) from telekom as spare. I wonder it's possible my system to connect to Innacomm first, then let it passes the signal to my Belkin?

There is no phone line in the bedroom. Belkin has built in antenna, so I can't switch to high gain antenna. Those USB antenna is not an option too because I am using Ipad when I'm upstairs. Is there any other option besides getting a wifi repeater?

Nokia C5 Chinese Input

Hi All,

I been looking around for a fast Chinese input software. Let's say I want to type 今天, I want do it by just typing j and t, which is 5 then 8 on the number pad. With the default input I must press j > i > n > t which is 5 > 4 > 6 > 8 only the word will appear. Is there any setting that can change that? Or other software? I tried Sougou, Baidu, JinShou but all of these cannot do what I want.

I have a desktop in my room connected to streamyx with an ADSL modem. Which networking product is best for me in order to have my laptop (through Wifi) and desktop (through ADSL) to online at the same time? Does those Linksys WRT wifi routers come with ADSL and wift or just wifi?

Wireless, MSN won't connect

Hi all,

My sis has a laptop and she is using Maxis wireless. That day I was using it with my streamyx and since that, shes been having problem with her msn after the pc is plugged back to the wireless modem. The wireless icon in the taskbar shows disconnected. The LAN is fine though and she can browse, download and everything but msn just won't connect. I google the error code: 80048820 and tried almost all sort of solutions but to no avail. The msn repair thingy still shows wireless is disable. How can is re-enable the wireless connection? My sis said it's auto detect but I doubt it.

How can I distribute the bandwidth evenly among 2 pcs.

System won't boot

My friend has an AMD 1800+, by right it should running at 1.53Ghz. Some how it's running @ 1.1 something so I went into his MSI bios but couldn't find the correct place to change it. Then I changed something 133 to 166. After that his system won't boot. I tried taking the mobo battery and leave it for 5 mins then it still won't boot. What should I do?

You would be right if you went by the old government EPA estimates, which netted the Prius an incredible 60 miles per gallon in the city and 51 miles per gallon on the highway. Unfortunately for Toyota, the government realized how unrealistic their EPA tests were, which consisted of highway speeds limited to 55mph and acceleration of only 3.3 mph per second. The new tests which affect all 2008 models give a much more realistic rating with highway speeds of 80mph and acceleration of 8mph per second. This has dropped the Prius's EPA down by 25 percent to an average of 45mpg. (Link to EPA statement.) This now puts the Toyota within spitting distance of cars like the Chevy Aveo, which costs less then half what the Prius costs.

However, if that was the only issue with the Prius, I wouldn't be writing this article. It gets much worse.
