Anyway to map file server w/t join domain?

Hi All,

I have a question to ask.

I have a file server which sharing files to all the domain machines, but currently my supervisor asking me to share those files inside file server to a window home edition PC which that the PC is not possible at all to join domain. So what can I do now to let this workgroup PC to able to getting full control to the file in the file server?

The only way I able to make this work, is to config all those share folder security to getting full control by EVERYONE. But the problem is, if I setting the security to allow EVERYONE to access all those folder, then even those existing active directory users with different group policy settings will able to getting full access to every share folder.

So what can I do now? any solution??

Hi All;

Just want to know more about proxy server!

Like for example my company actually have a firewall to block users for visit so site, but after I install hotspot shield, it become wow, I can visit every site without problem. So I would like to know more on how actually proxy server work? Because for what I know (No sure correct not =p ) is my package still need to send back to firewall before going out to router and the internet. So how actually all of this package bypass the firewall?

Any expert here? mind to share your knowledge to me?

I am already a bachelor degree in computer sys and network. Just wanted to know if now I going to take another singapore poly diploma in control engineer. What career can I aim for if I finish the diploma, will it help me to get more advance at what kind of job. Please give me some advice.

Hi All;

I think I still can consider as a fresh degree graduate from networking field (Just after 3 months Probation on Network Engineer in a SG co.). Just one think to ask all the senior in these fields is network engineer job really can be consider a very free job?

I know maybe in Network consultant, vendor company maybe will be very busy for this position. But for a freashie like me without CCNA certificate is not really easy for me to join these kind of company ba.

OK, Back to what I wanted to ask, is that network engineer working in support only company network is a very free job or only I suffer in this condition? Some of the people might say because I am still fresh in the company so the boss wont give me alot of things to do, but the problem is I found out that even my senior also very free -.- And what I do basically also include IT support as to install software, setting printer and all those kind of things on user computer, but you know I know not everyday got problem on user computer and not everyday got ppl asking for install software right? From Salary I get SGD 2.3k per months with almost everyday gonyang kaki in office (suffering facebook, IT dept ppl ma sure got way to do this ).

The main point of this thread is to ask is this is network engineer life or whatever? Coz i really feel lifeless if working like this. But if ask me resign now without CCNA what can I do? (Btw, my boss is very kind and nice, until I feel ashamed if I resign now, because just after probation and increase salary again. )

Any suggest?

P/S: Please Dun flame me as I really not showing off any things, I know so people may feel annoying while reading as they need to work like dog but my job so free and I still complaining that much. But really it is lifeless. If in hometown then maybe can use the time hang out with friends and family but in here I really have no idea what can do. No friends atleast got work to fullfill my time will be more better for me.

Need help on this question.

My question sound like abit stupid but I seriously want to know it. Is that possible you get hire on any outsource company in malaysia and they put you to work in their client company in Singapore? If yes, who will pay you salary? in RM or SGD?

I try to search in google about some information about this company and what I get is their information in HQ USA. It basically is a ITC support company but for what I want to know now is what actually their company in Singapore do. Is they providing any ITC solution, or just a Call center?

what to know some things about alertpay

Hi all;

As like many other, I play Click to pay, now I have get the lower limit usd2 to cash out to my alertpay account. Which mean now my alertpay have the amount of usd2, what i wan to know is, if i using the bank transfer service to transfer the amount of usd2 to my maybank account, how much will it charge? For what i see is rm15, i really rm15 my usd2 will totally become minus dunno how many. lolz

I found that alot of forummer in lowyat have experience working in IT dept at infineon melaka, so I open this thread here to asking some things about working in Infineon as an System Engineer(HelpDesk). May I know how was the working environment for this position and also how they actually making shift working time on you? Izzi 1 week you are from 8am to 5pm, then another week you will be replace to work at 10am to 7pm and so on keep looping the time.

Hi all,

Today, I finally receive a call for a MNC after a few of interview for offering me a job. Actually it should be a good news for me, but now I am worries about this case. The company call me that they will be 1st offering me a 8month contact base job, and after the 8month contact base (Not consider probation, mean after this it might still have a probation period) just see how my performance, if good then stay if bad they byebye.

The problem now I have is, I am one of those person who have being select for Khidmat Negara before, but because of study I only can postpone it until now I already finish my university studies and I know I will have quite a big probability to go back to this khidmat negara at this coming September. So now what I wan to ask is, if I taking the offer and suddenly need to have a break because of this khidmat negara, will I be into trouble like being sue or what because it is a contact base job.

Actually being honest tell the employer that I might be calling back to Khidmat Negara is a good way, but for what my experience and some of my friends who have the similar case with me, after they told that we will need to go back to khidmat negara the job will be automatically drop!

So about the above problem, anyone of you can give me any adviser regrading on what I can do on this or what I should being notice before sign the contact?

I am a fresh graduate, just like all freshie I am having my hard time on finding job

Can anyone of here who work in infineon IT dept share some things about interview with infineon or how to apply job in infineon for me? Did infineon will like shell company need to do alot of test and exam in interview also? I am a degree graduate but not those people with CGPA > 3.0 isnt possible for me to get a chance for interview with infineon?

Hi all

As above topic, I have lose my SPM certificate and my school told me they dun have other copy. I take my SPM at year 2006 and now I have already finish my University Study and wanna looking for Job, so I am very in need to get back my SPM certificate. Basically, I am graduate from independence Chinese Secondary School and I also have take the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), and I'm using UEC result to straightly going to my bachelor degree course without need of the SPM result. So until now I just find it I lose my SPM. I am not sure SPM certificate is important for finding a job or not, any adviser on this?
