Single domain with single DC restoration

Hi guys,

My company has a Win2003 single domain and single domain controller. It is AD DNS integrated. We need to upgrade all the hard disks in 2 weeks time. We using NTbackup to perform backup. My questions are

1) system state enough to restore back the whole domain?
2) backing up system state is include DNS settings?
3) for this case, i need to use authoritative or non authoritative?

Xp mapped network drive itself

Hi fella,

Recently i found a problem on my xp sp2. After some time it will mapped a network drive itself. It will used all the drives which were unoccupy. For eg it will used:

e:\server\
f:\server
g:\server\
.
.
.
.
(until the last one)

The path of the mapping was same. Another symptom was my machine will be very slow on the mapping drive period. When everything goes back to smooth, sure i can see couples of mapped drive in my computer. Just wonder anyone has this problem before?

how to setup pop3 exchange 5.5 with win2003 AD

hi,

I have

1)exchange 5.5 with NT4 test@domain.com domain
2)win2003 dc with test@domain.com.my.

Both domain has 2 way trusted relationship. I created a mail box in exchange 5.5 with AD user. When i used outlook express connecting to exchange 5.5, it keeps prompting username and password. Just wana know did i left anything? My windows xp joined the AD domain.Thanks.

Domain GPO Internet Explorer Maintenance

Hi guys,

Need your help. I created one OU call OU1. Then i created one GPO on OU1 to set Internet Explorer Maintenance -> Security -> Security Zones and Content Ratings. Inside here, i choosed Import the current security zones and privacy setting. I added some zone inside. But the result is i cant see any zone i added on the client pc. Anyone try this GPO before?

WSUS Deployment

Hi guys,

I need help here. My company got about 200 xp clients with sp1 or sp2. Now i need to install WSUS into a win 2003 server. The installation ran smoothly since i followed the steps provided by microsoft. After that i created a group call "Testing" inside WSUS console. I will use GPO to deploy all the patches. The WSUS sync and i downloaded few pathes for xp. Now my problem arised. The patches dint deploy to clients as i already schedule it everyday 3pm. I got a question here, can i know what is the purposes between mix,install and detect only status?
