SAFE TO BUY OR Not - HTC TOWER

Hi intending to buy a property about 700 to 1000feet away from HTC. Any comments will be welcomed.

Read about safe distance being at least 700feet.
Some recommend at least 2km away.

Read about risks of leukaemia or long term side effects for near exposure. Any advice?

Hi, I'm currently a student and thinking about getting a dog in sibu. However I will be going back to kl 2 years later.

Does anyone know the procedures to transport my pet? Is it safe to do so? Because my friend told me a friend of hers transported a dog few years back and the dog died in the process.

Is there a need for quarantine? I was told that it was very trouble some and it will take months to do so. How much does it usually cost?

Does anyone know an agent for that?

Your reply would be kindly appreciated. Thank you.

How to deal with stress?

Hello,

I'm a medical student now in my first semester. Having finals now, and i'm feeling stressed because there are loads to study and so little time!

Eventhough I planned my time and I was on schedule, I still feel this stress in me that I cried a few times already. Before this, we had test every week and I was ok with that. I don't know how to cope with this and maybe someone here might be able to help?

I used to face this during my exam when I was in higher secondary school. What can i do? But i thought it was ok already since this crying thing disappear when I was doing my Pre-U. I always have high expectation on myself because I do not want to disappoint my parents as they are spending fortune on me.

I even thought that maybe this course is not suitable for me just because of these few days I was so stressed up. Can anyone help me?

[addedon]November 30, 2011, 9:31 pm[/addedon]However, I do enjoy the times when we had lectures, practicals and stuff. It's just this exam thing that I cannot control my emotions.

I have been trying to comfort myself. It's like you know that it will be alright but you just cannot control your emotions. I even felt nauseous after eating these few days. Gosh I really hope that exam end quick. I know I would be feeling silly when I think back about now when I finish my exam.

Just like i feel silly and better by taking a nap after crying.

The crisis of saturation of doctors

Hello. I am a student going into the course very soon.

I have done many researches and talked to many people like those who are doctors themselves, people who're studying mbbs or some who has just graduated or simply some people who are experienced in life.

Many have said that people nowadays should not go into this field anymore and not only medicine, even pharmacy and some other health sciences fields. This is all due to the government allowing so many medical universities opening up and did not manage them well. Some of the universities do not have the required facilities and resources to commence medicine course at all.

But there are also some who have the burning passion to become a doctor or study something related to health sciences. Should we really put out the burning passion of the youngsters nowadays? Doctors are not earning as much as last time anymore due to the saturation in Malaysia and there are going to be out of places for housemanship soon. I know many facts regarding about studying medicine now which are all negative ones that the people in the profession told me.

For me, I come from an average family. So i do not have a chance to study abroad like most of my friends or even go to a reputable university. All my parents can afford is a not-so-reputable one and with the aid of scholarships and PTPTN loan. I have once changed my mind to go for pharmacy due to financial problems and the advises from my family doctor besides a few other doctors that I've met. However, at the end, I still regretted and went to change my application again. Luckily, I've got a scholarship for medicine.

That day my friend told me that the dean of medicine went into her class and told them to search for alternatives unless they are very sure that they can be the top 1000 students from the 6000 housemen graduating every year. I know that he is right, but there are still many people out there who do not realise about the fact. I was wondering myself, should be the top 1000? Or top 100?

Therefore, I still want to ask for everyone's opinion. Should we really put out the burning passion of youngsters nowadays? Is it still worth to give it a try if they really like to be a doctor that much? There are friends of mine who did not obtain good results and opted for universities with bad reputation due to lack of choice, should they really continue? Although there are some who definitely do not qualify in terms of academic, they have the passion. What should they do?

So should everyone stop going for medicine course until doctors are not saturated even though some have the potential to be a good doctor?

No offense and not trying to be negative here. I am just curious about how the students who want to be a doctor very much but they are at the wrong timing now deal with this. That's why i want to start a discussion here. =)

MBBS at Segi or Taylor's?

My friend has been to the orientation today at Segi. She said that the lecturers are well experienced and the facilities are better than other Unis like Aimst.

I know there are rumours that Segi is taking in students with low requirement. So I've started this poll to verify all these. She said that there are students from Monash, SAM and even CGPA of 4.0 students from Aimst attending the orientation today. And the lecturers are from local IPTA's, IPTSs or even overseas like Singapore and they are well experienced. I am really at doubt about this though because I somehow feel like the staff there are not promising after visiting a few times to enquire about MBBS. They are taking in students with CGPA lower than 3.5 which is even much lower compared to many other IPTSs which set their requirement at CGPA of above 3.5.

I've been to both Taylor's and Segi to have a look. Taylor's placing for clinical phase is at Sungai Buloh Hospital which is very big and a few others but they are focusing on Sungai Buloh currently. And Segi's one will be at Teluk Intan and Sibu. The lecturers from Taylor's seems promising too and students are required to be interviewed before entering unlike Segi.

So I would like to hear some advises from other people as I cannot enter other IPTSs with their expensive fees. I know Segi has bad reputation for their MBBS after reading all the rumours spreaded here in LYN. However, no one seems to know about Taylor's. Hopefully someone can help me to verify all the news.

Thank you =)

Medicine course at where?

I was thinking about whether to do Medicine at Taylor's or Segi. And I heard that Taiwan is offering scholarship for students to go for MBBS.

May I know whether Taiwan's MBBS is recognised by MMC? Will I be allowed to work in Malaysia after that?

Taylor's has only just started this year, and Segi is taking in their second batch this year. So which one is better?

Please help, thanks in advance! =)
