Diablo III

Diablo III Confirmed for Consoles!!

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo III will come to consoles. Community manager Micah Whipple confirmed the news on Twitter, writing "Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project."

This marks the first time Blizzard has provided outright confirmation that the game will see a multiplatform release. Previously, a console version of Diablo III was teased by director Jay Wilson and discussed at Blizzcon. Wilson also gave an update about the project in November, and Blizzard co-founders Michael Morhaime and Frank Pearce confirmed their interest during the VGAs.

No specific platforms were mentioned and, as with the PC version of Diablo III, no release date has been announced.

PSP2 is Real, Developer Claims
Sony's next PlayStation Portable device is real and powerful, one developer claims.

Speaking to Industry Gamers, Netherrealm Studios Executive Producer Shaun Himmerick reportedly said on record the team has "PSP2" when asked about the team porting its upcoming Mortal Kombat title to the current PSP.

"We're not launching day one on all consoles like that," Himmerick said. "We are looking at them; we have a PSP2 in the house and we're looking at the engine, like what can it support.

"Always a big thing for us is the performance," he added. "We're running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over. We're definitely looking at them. PSP2 looks like it's a pretty powerful machine. We don't have a 3DS system in house yet, but we're looking to get one, and we'll certainly look at what its power is."

Sony has declined to comment on the report. The latest rumors say PSP2 may have touch-sensitive controls on the back of the device and could include phone functionality.

Which genre of game you prefer Hideo Kojima to come up next?

April 12, 2010 - We have a good feeling that Hideo Kojima is always thinking about what he's going to do next. Yesterday, he decided to Tweet about it.

Kojima wrote yesterday, "I still have loads of work for PW, but my mind is in 'The Next Title Mode.' This is bad. I have to get my mind set on PW. I think about it without noticing, obsessing over it, unconsciously smiling and getting excited. Once again, thinking about 'The Next Title.'"

Work on the Japanese version of Peace Walker, due on april 29, is presumably done, but Kojima is still likely busy with promotional activities and readying the game's overseas version, which will arrive a couple of months later .

So what exactly is Kojima considering when his mind is in "Next Title Mode?" He also Tweeted: "I'm pondering over the next project's voice cast. I still do not have the details embedded, but everything is running simultaneously in my head. The title, game design, story, characters, setting, mechs, casting, direction of the graphics, sound, beginning & ending, and key story sequences. It all molds together naturally in my head."

It looks like the next game will have voice acting and a mechanical component (the term "mech" was used in the official translation, but the Kojima's Japanese statement can be in reference to any sort of mechanical design). It will also have story, characters, sound, and a beginning and end!

We're going to assume that Konami's PR department has pleaded with Kojima not to share specifics beyond this.

*I personally prefer him to make ZOE 3 at current gen console. Which is something will impress me for sure. But other than franchises, I'll love to see how he can make an epic RPG whether it's SLG, ARPG or RPG.
Focusing Raiden in Metal Gear after he became a ninja cyborg is good like what they did to Metal Gear Rising but too bad it's not develop by him.

2010 will be a good year to from just the beginning !! more like RPG year ! KH birth by sleep, Star Ocean 4, WKnight Chronicles, god of war 3, final fantasy 13, GT5 !! Heavy Rain !! wow better save ur ang pow for this !!

Cross Edge hasn't seen a US release yet, but that's not stopping Nippon Ichi from making yet another crossover RPG exclusively for the PS3. Trinity Universe combines the Atelier and Disgaea universes, but in a refreshing twist for NIS, is presented in full 3D. In fact, this will be the first time you'll see Etna and Prinny as non-sprite characters.

Siliconera notes that the combat is similar to Xenogears, with skills assigned to three different action buttons. Players will also have to keep a close eye on time and destroy "gravitation fields" in dungeons before it's too late. Idea Factory is publishing the game in Japan this August. It's expected NIS America will announce the game for US release at their press event tomorrow.
