Nottingham Malaysia dates

Hello there.

I'm curious to know the following dates:
1. Application deadline for Nottingham Malaysia (Undergraduate)
2. Around when the offers start arriving

I've searched their website, www.nottingham.edu.my, but I haven't found anything. If anybody could provide me with the above info, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Porting Nokia backups to Sony Ericsson

Hey there. Recently, I lost my Nokia 6151, and the day before that, I made my first backup using Nokia PC Suite 6.3 (good timing, I know). Now I'm thinking of buying a Sony Ericsson phone, s500i. Is there any way I can restore the backup (messages and contacts at least) to the new phone, and if so, how?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Beryl vs Compiz

Beryl was born when Compiz forked into "Official" Compiz and Compiz-Quinn, Compiz-Quinn becoming Beryl. Before Compiz forked, I had been using Compiz, but it had always been slightly laggy. Then, after the fork, when I tried to upgrade my version of Compiz, it didn't work, so I switched to Beryl, and have been pretty satisfied with it ever since.

I also hear that the upcoming, final release of Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04) will have Compiz pre-installed, and that it comes as a dependency of the meta-package ubuntu-desktop. So, which of the two do you think is better and why?

Ubuntu, pthreads and Mingw

Hi guys.. I've recently learnt pthreads programming in C, and I hear there's a pthreads-win32 available. However, I'm trying to install pthreads headers and libraries for the cross-compiler Mingw. Is there a way?

Thanks in advance.

RSS Feed

Hello, all.

Currently, I'm still kinda new to Lowyat.NET forums, but I'd like to make a suggestion.. I've seen many other forums (take www.webdesignforums.net for example) include RSS feeds for each forum and subforum, as well as for the entire message board. IMO, it's very useful for keeping up to date with Lowyat.NET posts without having to keep the browser open at all times, and I'm sure a considerable number of people would appreciate it if this feature was introduced here.

P.S. I meant RSS feeds for every individual forum and subforum.
