2nd Hand Beach Apartment (30 Years Old)

Hi everyone!

I just bought an apartment located on the beach. It's quite an old apartment, already 30 years old . I got it second hand.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with beach homes i.e. does the salty and hot air change the usual recommendations for furniture, wiring and plumbing?

Thought of getting some upgrading works done soon there. The unit is quite decently taken care of, but given its age, definitely need to do upgrades/repairs where necessary.

I would like to humbly request your advice and recommendations where possible. I would be very grateful.

Exabytes VS Serverfreak

I am wanting to set up a website that can sell items, including accept online payments (debit card, credit card, fpx, etc.). Any recommendation on which service provider is better?

The 2 biggest one in market now is Exabytes and Serverfreak. But it is very confusing to decide which offer a better and safer package, because i don't know much about website building. I am also on budget at the moment, so i prefer to build a website on my own. I have tried Wordpress before, and i find it very tricky and difficult to get a fully functioning website, especially when setting up a payment gateway within the website.

Please help me. I need advice. TQVM.

Redoing home wiring

Guys, I'm currently living in a condo. Bought the place and moved in at 2007. When I first moved in, I hired a contractor then to do the wiring from the scratch and then apply for a fresh new account with TNB. Yup, the unit did not have anything done before that.

Problem is, about 6 months ago, one of the air con in the bedroom got shot. Then, 3 months ago, water heater at the mail bathroom got shot. I think the whole house wiring was not done properly.

Question is, how much will it cost me to redo the whole wiring in the house from scratch? I already have a 14 point fuse switchbox installed that currently being used. I just want fresh wires to start from the box to all my lightings, air cons, water heaters, fans, etc to ensure nothing 'bad' happens.

Please help with suggestions and advices. Thank you so much!

do we need a permit to play mahjong at home?

my neighbor's house, while they are playing mahjong, got kacau by the polis last night. polis said that its illegal to play mahjong without a permit, since its classified as gambling.

is this true? is yes, how to apply for license? me also playing mahjong at home with with family now for cny.

how about on a normal day....now i wonder if i should get rid of my mahjong set.

me, at home and with friends, yes, i gamble 10 cents/20 cents when we all play mahjong. sigh...now dunno how edi...

PRU Malaysia is cancelling their working arrangement with many hospitals in Malaysia!

This is VERY BAD for those holding insurance with Pridential!!!

Imagine if suddenly you need to go to hospital for emergency or treatment, you won't be able to use your medical card anymore. You have to pay yourself and only later 'might' be able to claim.

Tell me, where will you get the deposit? Deposit alone is thousands and thousands of dollars!!!!

PRU is ripping their customers off!!! Just got this tip off from staffs working in various hospitals.

Does anyone here use the EON Bank MOL FREEDOM MasterCard?

1. I've been told that it supports payment on both PayPal and Ebay portals? Is this true? How does it work so far for you?

2. The website claims to also support/provide Mol SafePay, a sort of escrow type payment facility? Does it? Any problems with it so far?

3. Has anyone used this card (the MasterCard function) to make payment when they are outside Malaysia? Does it work?

I've surfed through every aspect of the EON Bank and MOL Freedom website, but i find the information is either absent or if present, sketchy at best.

Would certainly appreciate any and all information on this card, as i am seriously considering using this card for daily expenses, overseas expenditures and internet (Ebay and Paypal) payments and money collection.

Setting Up Wireless Network Fence/Password

Hi guys,

Here's the thing. I live in with my family i.e. 4 of us using the wifi at different intervals daily on our own laptops.

Now, lately i notice someone, probably my neighbours (those renting nearby or next door) have been using my wifi. Now, my dad installed it, but its been one year, and only now i realise (i just moved back in) that its not secured. The wifi is not set with a password, WPA, WPE, and all that crap.

Now, can someone pls help instruct me on how do i secure the wifi. Its so damn irritating, coz the wifi is so slow i have to wait 15 mins for a simple website to load. sigh...

Making a printer wireless

Hi guys,

I have a printer all in one (MFC-260C). Now, i have 2 PCs at home, both laptops.

How do i make the printer a wireless one? Without connecting to any of the PCs.

Can i use a normal bluetooth dongle?

Reason is because my computer table location does not have a phone wire running there. Its on the other corner of the hall. I don't want wires running everywhere!

I need to set user access limits for my pc, so that when any of my friends or family members use my pc, they do not simply download any software or crap from the net. I also need to restrict them from touching or going to the control panel, network places, etc...

Any ideas? Any softwares to recommend? Hopefully free lor, if not gotta pay by USD!
