Brother Laser Printer MFC-1910W

I just bought a Brother MFC-1910W which works (ie. print, scan, copy & fax) beautifully via USB cable. It can also print and scan via WiFi from my mobile.

However, I am thinking of connecting the USB cable to the router (D-Link DIR842) USB port instead of PC. My router is on 24/7 but PC is switched off at night.

Has anyone connected the MFC-1910W directly via USB to the router before? Any problems with printing from the network? Please share your experience. Thank you.

My NRIC chip is not readable and my bank is not allowing transactions. I tried to search the JPN website whether its PJ branch at Jln Sultan is still open, but a search drew "Tiada Maklumat".

Can someone please advise if the JPN PJ is still open. Thank you.

Unknown callers with Private Numbers

I don't know about you all but nothing spoils my day more than receiving unsolicited calls from banks, realty negotiators, tele-marketers, direct & insurance sellers. It was already bad to receive these cold calls and worse if they were from Private Numbers.

Any suggestions to avoid these unknown callers especially where phone numbers are not shown. Throwing away my phone and number is one suggestion that I can't afford.

Car Battery Charger for home user

I traveled overseas and outstation frequently and my car battery would inadvertently fail on me when I returned. Calling AAM for assistance could be a few hours wait especially during peak rush hours. As such I am looking for a portable car battery charger which is suitable for home users. I intend to hook up the charger for the duration of my travel (about 2 weeks) so that the battery is fully charged and ready to go.

I have done some online researches and have narrowed down my choice to the following smart charger:

1] Yokohama 6V/12V Automatic Charger,
2] Bosch C3,
3] Bosch C7, or
4] Ctek MXS 5.0 (but this is too expensive)

Would appreciate if anyone could advise which charger is better & safer for a home user who knows nuts about cars or batteries. Also where I can buy any of the above from a shop (preferably around Klang Valley)?

I went to Ace Hardware and saw 2 chargers but they are so heavy and probably meant for commercial. I would prefer to view the product in a shop rather than buying it online as I need the sales staff to show me how to use the charger safely. Thank you.

I would appreciate if anyone, who has subscribed, could comment or relate his/her experience on:
1] How long will the promotion price remain at RM98.99 (for 10 Mbps & TV) after installation?
2] How is the TV programs compared to Astro and HyppTV?
3] Any intermittent delays when viewing TV?
4] Whether its 10 Mbps broadband is stable and reliable? Any downtime so far?
5] What is the average speed recorded during speed-test?
6] Whether there will be landline or DECT Phone connectivity?
7] What is the range & speed of the built-in Wifi Router?
8] Any user email address provided?

Old House reaching 25 years old

I have a house that is approaching 25 years old soon. I heard my colleagues saying that we should rewire the whole house every 25th years as the internal wires could have harden and potential for short circuit or fire would greatly increase.

Is there any requirement (by Law or Regulations) that the internal wiring of a house must be re-wired by the 25th years?

How much would it cost to re-wire a DSL house of 22 by 70 feet? Thanks!

D-Link DSL-2750U Firmware Updated

I just updated my firmware (for my D-Link Modem Router DSL-2750U) from SE1.0 to SE1.01 and the validation code went missing. I tried to revert back to the factory version but unsuccessful. Other than the missing validation code, the latest firmware is working fine.

I sent an email to the D-Link but no response after more than the 3 days which the website stated they will revert within 48 hours.

Can any sifus help me to get back the validation code for my login page, please? Thanks.

If you have this same issue after upgrading the firmware, go to the following and enable CAPTCHA:
Maintenance>Access Controls>CAPTCHA>'Tick Enable Button'

Epson L210 Printer

I am thinking of buying an Epson L210 Printer which comes with the original CISS, although I am not a heavy user but I am sick of replacing cartridges as my current printer will stop printing even if one of the cartridges is empty.

Is it reliable or worth buying? Anyone using it now?

ESYINK Refillable Cartridge 73N

During the recent PC fair, I bought the refillable cartridges for my printer and they came with 4 different inks and 1 syringe. Now my cartridge just ran out of ink and I don't know how to refill.

Would appreciate if any gurus out there could tell me the steps.

Do I need to remove the tiny rubber plug or just use the syringe to inject the ink through the rubber plug (without removing it)?

Fire-hazards - locked fire exits in Condo

I have a high-rise condo unit which I have rented out and I am horrified to learn from my tenant that the management has locked all the fire exits and there was no security guard manning the fire exits. In an emergency, the residents will not be able to escape. Recently there was an outage and the residents were unable to leave for 30 minutes.

I have called the Bomba hotline but they said that they can only advise the management to leave the fire exits opened but todate they did not. I am worried sick about the fire-hazards and the lack of escape. Please advise whether there is any Legislation in Malaysia that forbids the fire exits from being padlocked. How do I alert the relevant authority on the potential fire-hazards before any unfortunate incidents happen? Thanks.
