The amount of Bankers draft can be changed?

Okay, my dad bought a bankers draft for me to pay the school fees in my hometown last week. Then now I realize the amount of this bank draft is actually RM40 more than expected amount. Can I go to any bank and change it? Or I need my dad's signature or anything?

My dad keep coughing!

First of all, my dad is a smoker. He started to smoke when he was 9. Well, that's what he said to me last time. My dad keeps on coughing now and then, it comes randomly to me because it he has been coughing since many years ago. He went to the hospital 2 years ago and checked, he was diagnosed with some kind of lung disease, Pleuraleffusion (fluid accumulation in lungs). Then, he was given treatment and he felt pretty good after that. But the coughs never leave him, he starts to cough very bad again recently, he keep spitting out during night and early in the morning.

Those cough drops haven't done much for him, and neither has cough medicine (the kind the doc prescribes for coughs when I have a cold or whatever). He started to take antibiotic which can be bought in drug store. I really worry about him. He tried to quit smoking for 8 months, but then he continued back again after that. But he did cut down the number of cigarette per day, he now only smoke 1 batang of cigarette in a day.

Is there any way for me to help him to quit smoking? I told him to quit before, but he keep telling me smoking is already part of his life. He said, tobacco cigarette can help to release stress -_-ll

A level or Foundation?

Let's see how to start. Okay, I wasn't born with silver spoon. I come from an average family but my parents still manage to feed us with food.

I finished my spm last year and I only got an average result. I only got 6A(3A & 3A-) 5B(3B+ & 2B). It is just a so so result, I can't really apply any scholarships with my current spm result. I had applied for Alvl in Tarc and Foundation in Science in UTAR. Here comes the problems, my mum wants me to study foundation in UTAR because the course fee is cheaper than studying Alvl in TARC. Foundation's fee is around 5k cheaper than Alvl.

But, personally I don't really want to take foundation because I don't know what exactly my ambition is. If I enroll in UTAR, I will probably end up being a engineer in future. Another reason why my mum doesn't want me to take Alvl is the duration of the course. We need 1.5 years to finish our A lvl which means we are slow a bit(probably a year) if compare to our same age friends. This is because they take foundation which only takes 1 year to finish.

My plan for after studying Alvl is to study overseas IF* I manage to get an excellent result. But I also prepare for the worst case, what if i only get a poor result for it, I might study in UTAR or other local uni which my parents will probably nagging me the whole life. "nahh, i told you to take foundation, you don't want, waste my money and your time"

If you were in my shoes, what would you do? What will you take into your considerations? Can I get any financial aid if I get to enroll in TARC?
