Messages on Mac not showing names

Hi, I have a MBP mid 2012 13-inch and run MacOS Sierra. I also have an iPhone 6.

But I have noticed for a while now that when I send an SMS to someone from my phone, it displays the receiver's name and number as usual, however when I open Messages on my MBP, it does not display the name of the receiver, only the mobile number. I have tried searching for answers on various apple forums but no satisfactory solution.

Thought I would ask here. Any ideas? Both MBP and iPhone are up-to-date with software etc.

Reformat drive from NTFS to FAT32

Hi guys,

Got a small problem. I want to reformat my 500GB external hard drive (Western Digital) form NTFS to FAT32 as my Xbox 360 won't read NTFS and I want to hook the external hard drive to my Xbox (which only reads FAT32).

But my drive is quite full now and I don't have a temporary place or second hard drive to put my files prior to reformatting. So I was wondering if there is a way to reformat the drive without transferring data somewhere else temporarily?

Does anyone know? Will Partition Magic do it?

Many thanks.

Does Astro support surround sound?

Hi people,

I have got a question / problem and was wondering if anyone could help. I am using a home theatre system (Pioneer) that consists of 4 small speakers at the front + woofer, and 2 small speakers at the back on stands. My TV is a 40-inch panasonic viera.

There is a problem however. When I play DVDs, all the speakers work fine, however when I am watching normal TV (in this case Astro), the ones at the back don't work. So this led me to think that Astro doesn't support surround sound?

Am I right? Can someone help me with this please? Is there any other reason why the back speakers don't work when watching Astro? (I'm using the normal Astro and not Astro B-yond).

Any constructive comments/help is very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Life of a surgeon?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone here could shed some light on the life of a surgeon in Malaysia.

How much do they earn, what is the nature of their job and what is the training like?

I'm a final year medic myself and looking forward to hopefully become a surgeon one day, specifically a cardiac surgeon.

Any thoughts?

Where to get battery for Toshiba laptop?

Hi guys, need some help here.

I need to know whereabouts in KL I can get a replacement battery for my Toshiba laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite R10. I went to the Notebook Shop in Suria which was the shop where I bought it from but they said it will take 8 weeks to get it. I can't wait that long as it's pretty urgent. Does anybody know where else I can get the item?

Thanks for your help.

Problems with Outlook on Dell Axim X51V

Okay guys, I really need your help here. The situation is like this:

1. When I bought the Dell Axim X51V I still wasn't using Outlook on my laptop to read emails and stuff. I was the more conventional type and read them on the web. I am using Gmail. But I still wanted to use the 'Messaging' feature in Windows Mobile 5 and therefore I set up my Gmail account on the Dell Axim X51V and things worked fine. My 'Messaging' account was therefore labeled 'Gmail' in my PDA. I didn't sync my 'Emails' through Activesync as there wasn't any need for it since Outlook wasn't used on my laptop anyway.

2. A couple of weeks ago I decided to check mails using Outlook 2007 on my laptop. So to cut a long story short, everything went quite well. Until today. Today I wanted to sync my Dell Axim's Outlook with my laptop's Outlook. The problem now is I can download the emails but can't send them through the account labeled 'Outlook Email' when using my PDA. . All my downloaded emails from my laptop's Outlook are saved under the 'Outlook Email' account in my PDA. I can only send them through the 'Gmail' account that I set up in the PDA a couple of months back. So it looks quite messy since there is an overlap of emails under the 'Gmail' account as well as the 'Outlook Email' account. What makes matters worse is that I can't send the emails through the default 'Outlook Email' account and have to use the 'Gmail' account instead which I don't want since it hasn't got all the folders that I created in Outlook 2007 on my laptop.

I hope I'm being quite clear since I'm quite a noob in these things. What I need to know is:

1. How do I get the account labeled 'Outlook Email' on my PDA to retreive settings (SMTP, etc) from my laptop's Outlook (I think this might be the problem, if I'm wrong do let me know) and therefore allowing me to send emails? If that happens, then I can delete my old 'Gmail' account in the PDA.

Help is very much appreciated. I have been trying the whole day to solve this. Thanks!
