Involved in Accident

Hi guys, this morning I was idling at traffic light and then some 4x4 pick-up truck banged me from behind. One side of the bumper came lose and there are some chips now on the bumper body. He's only willing to pay me RM100 on the spot, so I disagreed, took pictures of the cars at the accident spot and his IC.

He assured me that he will call me after work but I'm kinda worried now. What if he chooses not to pick up my phone later and disappear? Should I just go to police station and make a report?

Currently what I'm planning to do:
1) Call him to meet up at my mechanic
2) Ask mechanic quote me on the spot
3) See if he's willing to pay, yes then good, no then report police

The thing is if he doesn't appear then my plan doesn't mean anything...

Cost to fix loose bumper

Hey guys, had an unfortunate accident today where I banged my Vios right in the middle of the rear bumper at the wall and it seems that my rear bumper is loose now on the right (left looks fine) and ended up with the damage below

*Please click spoiler to view images*

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Anyone has similar experience and can provide some information on how much would this cost to fix?
Housing Loan Offers

Hi guys, I have recently applied for housing loan from a few banks and now I am considering the final two offers, below are some of the key differences I consider:

1) Hong Leong Bank
BLR -2.45%
30 years
Full Flexi Loan
RM10 service charge per month

2) OCBC
BLR -2.35%
35 years
Semi Flexi Loan
RM10 per withdrawal, minimum RM5000 per day
Waived Legal Fees In Case of Top-Up Loan

Lock in period is the same @ 3 years for both banks. At the moment I'm leaning towards Hong Leong Bank because i think I will be using the home loan account quite actively as I plan to dump all my savings into it but if it's a semi-flexi loan I will not be able to do so since there's processing for transaction. You can also see that the rate is quite a decent amount higher than OCBC. I am also considering that there is a possibility of taking a top-up loan for business/investment purposes in the future.

The thing is I have had really bad experience with HLB before, although that was with a different branch in a different state some time ago. During the loan application process, I also feel that OCBC is more attentive to me as they would always come to collect whatever documents required from me instead of me having to get to the bank to submit and sign. Besides that, I have done a fair share of searching in Lowyat forum, seems like almost everyone had bad experiences with HLB before

Which one would you guys suggest me to take? Do you guys think I should give HLB another shot?

Used Hyundai Accent 2005

I was recently shopping around for an old, used car around the range of 10k for me to commute to and back from work. After some researches, I decided on the Hyundai Accent and so I was shopping around and found one at a used car dealer today clocked at roughly 100K mileage, the condition was decent. I checked out another 2005 Accent with 250K mileage and the engine was roaring the moment I switched on air cond but I test drove this 100K mileage one and the engine is seems to be in pristine condition, there was no sound no matter what level of air-cond I switch to and when idle/moving, the engine is really quiet compared to the other one I saw previously. However, I realized there is a crack on the engine cover, I wonder if they affect drivability of the car?

Snapshot taken from top to down:

Snapshot taken from the front of the engine:

Here are two pictures taken from mudah of the engine:

Notice the circled red parts, this is the exact same spot where I spot the crack... seems like the above two cars also have same problem, one of them hasn't cracked by the shape of the bend is already there It looks like it's a heat shield only but no the engine? To my naked eye that it's not really connected to the engine. Any other owners with similar problem?

Is this a crack that will require a big repair? It seems to me that this crack is just on a cover protecting the pistons, and that the pictures were taken after I did my test drive of about 15 minutes and I inspected the entire engine, no oil leaking anywhere. I'm really interested in the car now and would have paid the money for it if not for the crack...

/k whose fault

So last night evening I was driving home after work as usual but unfortunately, accident happened, drillz:

1. Was driving on a straight road.
2. Came to a junction.
3. Saw a car suddenly came out of the junction into my road (main).
4. He stopped right in the middle of the road.
5. I couldn't stop my car in time cause time frame was too short so I banged into his car.
6. He claimed that he had stopped his car and scolded that why I didn't stop mine. (Does this even make sense? He's slowly coming out from the junction of course he can stop in time while I'm cruising at a constant speed???)
7. In the end wented to report police, yet to know whose fault.

This f**king accident probably wouldn't have happened if these inconsiderable car drivers didn't park their f**king cars on the shallow pavement for pedestrians, blocking views and making it hard to see for drivers.

P/S: Car heading right = me
