Unif with D-Link DIR-615 - no WIFI, phone down

Hi all,

Need expertise advice regarding my Unifi stock router D-Link DIR-615, last night I turned off everything before go to sleep, this morning I am not able to get internet connection but the phone still managed to work.

As usual, reset/restart few times all the devices, laptop, modem, router and phone, (I didn't use the IPTV)

Still I can't see the my wireless network shown on the list, only can see all the neighbors wireless network.

So troubleshooting continue, did factory hard reset to modem (bad move), router.

Getting "lucky", the phone used to work now also shown red light (VOIP port on modem).

So it's time to call Unifi for help, the agent reset the connection from server end, claiming that my connection might get hung if I simply turn off everything like that before go sleep.
He has reset the connection from his end and he can see that my line is up but I still can't get connection from my end.
Then he asked to find a network cable which I don't have with me at that time.
I asked to hang up the call as I need time to find that cable from store room.

Later I found cable and connect it between router and laptop, internet is up and all running fine.
But wireless network still no sign of it.
Suddenly I feel like the wireless key need to configure again because I had did hard reset the router to factory, so I login to router and configured the wireless key, once completed, the wireless network has showed, and I can connect to it, internet browsing works fine, of course I have disconnect the network cable just to test the WIFI is ok.

Called Unifi again, this time I told the agent phone is not working, as usual I was asked to turn off all devices few seconds and turn on again, guess what, my wireless network down again, no sign of it...sigh.
Connect using the network cable again, and my internet connection is up using the cable but WIFI still down.
I did the same like before, reset and hard reset the router and reconfigured the router WIFI few times, press the blue refresh button too on the right side of the router, all of that never help.
I was told that I should not hard reset the modem as this has wiped out my VOIP phone setting, technician might have to come on site the configure again.

Thanks for reading the long boring story.

My questions now is, is that a way to configure the phone on my own? the VOIP port light on the modem still red now.
The router WIFI still not working, should I ask for replacement? (start using Unifi around 3 months plus, still under warranty I guess)

Beware! Astro SD Decoder bind to one card

Not sure this has been brought up before or not....just wanna share my experience.

This morning my mom call me and told that her Astro SD cant watch, suddenly no service and she dont know how to read the on screen messages.

Our Astro is not Beyond, just normal Astro SD, buy paying rm136 for it monthly, been using for 8 years.

So when i got back after work and check, the screen said the Astro card is not activate, need to contact Astro customer service to activate the card.

So I call Astro customer service(CS) for troubleshooting, after gone through some usual steps at Astro menu, ie. download services, check parameter, check signal strength..etc.

End up the Serial number of the decoder was being asked, and the CS said that my decoder is register under other person name, so i told him i got the secondhand decoder online (here), as my original one faulty after many years wear and tear.

Guess what, I was told by the CS that I cant used other decoder, be it secondhand or new, because Astro do not sell decoder, decoder only come with new registration, so my only option is to report the faulty decoder to them and get technician come to check, they will try to repair, if beyond repair, then will give a replacement, and of course all this will be chargeable.

Sigh, really angry and sad to hear this, i thought this only happened to the new Astro Beyond decoder, the card will bind to only one decoder....seems like i am wrong and they did the same to Astro SD decoder.

long story cut short, i terminated the astro service......the way they run business really amazing and i cant agree more..haha

so beware when u buy secondhand decoder to replace the current one, i know my friend in law just got a new one rm150 from shop....i am not sure this kind of card bond checking is random or will be fully enforce...
