Just bought a 12v led underwater spotlight. Theres no led driver provided but when i dismantle the light, i found this chip. Anyone know what is it? Can i connect to 240v power supply, or 12v ac transformer, or still need led driver?

Where to buy dummy aircond

My developer provide 7 aircond points (wiring, sink pipe, copper piping). I cant afford to put airconds to all the points. But I cant bear to let the points exposed just like that.. too ugly. So I am thinking of putting dummy aircond so it looks nice..

How to calculate RPGT?

I am planning to sell a land with a building on it. The history:

Year 1: My mother bought an empty land for 200k
Year 2: She built a house at 400k.
Year 3: My mother transferred the title to me as the new owner, in a form of gift.
I also had to pay the assessment tax about 4k-5k. This is quite high because of the building presence on it.
Year 4: To sell both land and house for 800k.

The RPGT formula is:
( Disposed price - Acquired price ) x % Tax Tier

So in this case, does it work like this:
( 800k - 200k ) x 30% ?
But how about the cost of construction of the house, is it not factored in?

*30% because disposal period is from Year 3 to Year 4?

What is 'yard' for actually?

I am not sure the kitchen should be extended to cover the yard area (to become mini wet kitchen), or just let it be for bigger backyard so that kids/animals can play around....

RMA for Corsair RAM

I have a faulty DDR2 RAM 2Gb Corsair which has lifetime warranty (dealers warranty no longer available). I have seek RMA request from Corsair technical helpdesk and they asked to send the RAM to its RMA department in Taiwan. Upon visiting DHL today, i was quoted the cost for delivery to Taiwan is RM183! Who on earth is going to send RMA if buy new one is much much cheaper. There's no point hype about lifetime warranty if it is not practical to claim RMA...

anybody has experience on after dealer warranty RMA?

Ipad 2 Wifi Problem

No problem at all connecting wifi at home, even low signal still can browse. But in office, it keep saying "unable to join network" no matter how many times i key in the right password (MAC address is not blocked). Both locations use WEP key so i dont think its configuration/encryption issue. And my friends using ipad 1 & 2 has no problem in the office. I managed to login once in day but then just few seconds it disconnected.

Some forums i read suggest to restart ipad, reset, restore, update ios, even tweak some setting on the router etc. Have done everything (now ios 4.3.3), except configure modem/router because it belongs to the company, hotels and hospital.

Any one has this kind of problem? Its hard to send to service centre for this kind of problem, because if they run a test at their wifi spot, it could be ok. The problem only happen at my office. How..?

Intel D410PT Motherboard Problem [solved]

I have a mystery which until now i'm still not able to solve, or even find out the root cause..

My company were supplied 4 set of computers using Intel D410PT motherboards with on-board Intel Atom 410 processor, using same Gigabyte-brand casing with standard 450W PSU. We dont run heavy applications on the PC, only browsing and word/excel applications.

1st PC: Within a month, the computer goes black. After pressing power switch on, all devices got power (CDROM, hard disk, fans) but there was no display, not even showing POST.
2nd PC: Now use the 2nd PC. After few weeks, the same thing happened.
3rd PC: Then use the 3rd PC. Same thing after few weeks.
4th PC: Finally use the last 4th PC. WTH....same thing also happened after few weeks!

Something is terribly going wrong. All 4 of them got same specs but they wont last a month. Since the PCs were provided by someone we've lost the contact, we could not claim for warranty.

I have a feeling that this PSU brand maybe is not stable hence damage the motherboard. So I replaced the PSU (using standard 450W) and the same D410PT motherboard from the 1st PC. Suspecting the supplier could be giving faulty motherboards, i purchased the mobo from Lowyat.net myself:

5th PC: Good for 2 months. After that, the same symptom happened again!! The power switch is on, all devices got power.. but NO DISPLAY!!

Send back to lowyat for warranty, and I have to wait for a month to get back. Really fed up with D410PT, and cant afford to wait for a month, I bought Gigabyte mobo and Intel Dual Core processor today. Hopefully this one would last for long...

However, I'm still not able to sleep well, as I am wondering what could be the cause that can damage all these 5 motherboards for no reason? If only I can know the problem, my heart would be pleased and i will be able to sleep tightly for the rest of the days...

UPDATE 15 Nov 2011: After stop using USB modem for several months, it is confirmed the damage is caused by misuse of USB modem.
