Recommend phone for elderly

Hi guys. Hope you guys can help me shortlist a few phones for my dad so I could go thru and study each one.
His only requirements below RM 1k (lower better).
Usage: phone calls, whatsapp, candy crush

From this, seems like very low spec phone will do but hope those familiar with phones can give suggestions on phones with good balance between spec and price based on usage and hopefully can last for some time in terms of built and user experience.

Did some research on Samsung phones but seems like after sometime will start to lag? Anyone can comment on this? Samsung is a big brand so by right they should be making good phones right even in the lower entry models?

Recently walked into realme shop and he was interested in Realme C33 cos it is cheap (below RM600). But Im worried cheap phones need to change every 1 - 2 yrs and I really dont know if it is a good phone for its price.
I myself using the same phone for 4yrs+ (and still going strong) but of course I bought flagship model. Maybe those with experience can share with me what to expect with budget phones below RM 1k so I know what to look for.

ps. Before anyone call me anak derhaka or charsiew son, I must say he forbid me to buy for him. So I hope you guys could suggest best value for money.

Handphone recommendation

Hi guys. I posted on phone recommendation thread but tak laku. Hope you guys here can help me out.

Ok so I'm looking for a phone for my wife.

Her requirements is can take good photos. She doesn't play games. So usage wise mostly just social media.

Budget wise, I'll reluctantly put it around RM4k plus minus cos it seems this is the price for most flagship phones nowadays. I definitely don't want to spend the sort of money to buy samsung s22 ultra or iphone.
IF there is such a phone, I'm totally open to cheaper phones as long as its camera is "flagship quality".

Currently looking at these phones in no particular order:

1. Xiaomi 12 Pro: Camera specs 50mp + 50mp + 50mp macam power on paper. Software wise I don't have good impression.
Last I used Xiaomi was maybe 6-7 yrs ago, company phone, not flagship model. Sometimes will restart itself. Surely there are improvements right?

2. Samsung S22: Camera macam ok ok only but I'm attracted to the 4yrs software support updates.
Last experience was samsung note 2 my wife (then gf) was using. I remember it was very laggy but I believe they must have improved to be where they are today.

3. Oppo Reno 8 Pro: Camera macam good. Software no idea, built quality no idea.
Wonder why oppo phones dont have their own thread..

4. Honor Magic 4 Pro: Camera macam good. Software wise, no idea.
This phone also doesn't have its own thread. Wife current phone Honor View 10. So far so good.

Myself previously used Oneplus 1, currently Oneplus 6. Love the phone but the support/updates macam getting less. Oneplus 10 worth considering?

Hope to hear from you guys. Any comments on the above phones? Any other recommendation? Or any upcoming phones that is worth waiting for?

Please share your opinion on hdd partitioning

Hi guys. So I've installed SSD in my laptop, and my old HDD to be used as storage drive.
My SSD was installed maybe around q3 last year and up until now, i have NOT stored anything in the HDD.
SO basically i just want to say hardly download stuffs. (laptop is 3+yo but only used up about 90GB for so called "storage" files)
Now, for no particular reason, i want to make use of the HDD which is sitting in my laptop like a piece of junk for the past few months.

My question is, should i partition the HDD (size=1TB) and why? Its function will be to store stuffs like music, documents, and whatever that i may need to store in future.

Im thinking, if i do partition it, then it would be easier/saves time if i need to do disk defragmentation.
If i dont partition it, it wont really matter as well since i dont have much to store also. Right?

What are your opinions? Is it important to partition my hdd?

How to care for cars parked outdoors 24/7

Hi. I will be getting a new car soon. Unfortunately I don't have a car porch.
My current car parked outdoors under hot sun and rain 24/7 and the paint also spoil.
I have to mention also, I don't have a place to wash my car so normally have to send to car wash.
What would be your advice for my new car? Does coating help?

Housing Loan 70%, 80% or 90%?

Hi guys. IMO, I believe the less loan you take, the better.
For example, if can afford to take only 70% loan, then go ahead take 70% loan. Cos end of the day, you pay back less to the bank.
If cannot afford then take maximum loan, maximum tenure, to reduce monthly installment.
The more you loan, the more you have pay to the bank.
Am I right about this?

Now Im having doubts. Am I being foolish to waste my 90% quota? What are the pros if I go for maximum loan?

Need help regarding upgrade SSD

What should I do? I want windows to boot from SSD and use the old HDD as storage only.

Ok my situation is this:
Everytime I leave the office, my staff will slack off.
I suspected something not right when everytime I come back, the task assigned seems like little to no progress. So I started to check cctv immediately after I leave the building and can see clearly this staff is just sitting in front of pc, not typing or anything. Sometimes hand will control mouse.
It really pisses me off when this staff acting like hardworking when I am around but behind me just ular. Even when I am in office I start to check cctv, many times just playing phone or put 1 hand at mouse staring at the monitor.
Once I even found movie files on desktop when I needed to use the PC but staff said these files want to transfer to colleagues USB.

Ok so is there any way I can check what exactly is this staff doing on the PC? Maybe something like TeamViewer without being obvious I connected to the PC? Or maybe something to generate log file of the PC activities?

Hi Guys. I am looking for a desktop to act as a server for my retail POS system.
Software supplier recommends i7, 16gb ram, ssd.
Current pc specs i3 and 4gb ram. System can run but there are some occasion it lags a bit.
Was looking at Dell deals for sometime and shortlisted this one: i5, 8gb ram

If follow supplier spec, that configuration (Dell offers) is above my budget.

I wanted to report on that thread but I can't seem to find that thread now.

Although I hardly post in this forum, this guy poses potential risk to my reputation and credibility when I actually do post something.

GPU vs PSU

Hi sifu2 sekalian. I am posting this here cos i need quick replies.

I have 550W PSU and 2nd hand wind force gtx 780 ti.
I checked online, it says it needs 600W

Just wondering if I should take the risk using this graphic card, assuming I don't play games that require heavy graphics.

What is the worst that could happen? PSU rosak and need to buy a new one? I would need buy new PSU anyway right?

Refresh operating system - windows 8

Hi. My gf's laptop lags. Super slow like snail as if there are many programs running. I suspect it could be due to all the nonsense Asus software pre installed (or could be other reasons, I don't know)

So I want to reformat it but there are no driver CDs. Maybe they don't give out this CD when u purchase laptop nowadays. Ya, I just came out from a cave.

Anyway, I found out that there is an option to refresh the operating system with Windows 8. Question is, if I refresh the OS, do I still need to re-install all the drivers?

Please advise if I should refresh or just go buy a fake windows CD and do a clean format?

PS. This lappy comes with ori Windows 8.

Looking for 9-5 job

Hi guys. I am looking for 9-5 job where I can leave work on time and do not need to bring work home.

Reason being: I want to gain experience in retail industry but obviously the pay in retail won't be enough to support my commitments. Therefore I shall do this part time after working hours.

In order to do this, I need a day job that allows me to leave on time without any further responsibilities.

Of course I don't expect the combined pay to match my current salary but at least enough to cover my expenses & commitments. Willing to eat simple food n drink plain water only. I'm looking at about 2.5k for the day job.

Please advise what industry or job position I should be looking at.
Any other advise are welcome.

Graphic Card Issue

Had some problems where my pc crash. Initially I can see my screen looks like have graphic issue. Weird lines appear on my screen as if my monitor pixels gone crazy before crash. I tried cleaning my pc of all the dust (4 years accumulation! OMG) and reconnect everything, GC, RAM, and all the cables to make sure all connection is not loose. Problem still persist when I play game or even just with my browser on.

Sometimes it says "Display driver NVIDIA windows Kernal Mode Driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered". So i tried updating my GC driver but still same problem.

It came to a point where I cant turn on my pc. After the windows logo then blue screen then auto restart. Cant see details on the blue screen cos it restart 2 sec after blue screen. It keeps restarting till I turn off the power.

Anyway, cut short my story, I removed the power from my GC and use the on board graphic and now no more problem.

Before i buy a new GC, how can I be sure the problem is my GC? Could it be my PSU is not giving enuf supply? Could it be the GC slot on my MOBO have problem?

How do i test my GC, PSU or MOBO to be sure it is my GC issue?
