PC Lagging while Gaming

My computer is 3 years old:

OS: Windows 10 Pro
Processor: i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Motherboard: ASRock H87M Pro4
RAM: 1x 8GB DDR3
GPU: Asus GTX 770
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120gb
HD: Seagate 500gb
Audio card: Asus Xonar Essence STX
PSU: Antec HCG-620

So recently my computer has been lagging while playing Dota 2, tried on Ultra settings @ 1080p and Low settings @ 1050p.
Tried on Starcraft 2 as well, same thing. Lags at Ultra and Low. So the problem is not game specific.

I tried disconnecting my internet to see if its because of that (my unifi isn't stable at all but switching to TIME tomorrow hopefully is better) but the problem is still there.

Ran Anti-Malware, Adware Cleaner, Junk Removal Tool, CCleaner and the computer is clean.

I'm just wondering if its just old hardwares dying and time for an upgrade?

Currently an A Level student.

Why Conservation Biology?
With the hopes of being a field biologist.
Because I love nature and would want to contribute to nature. The only thing holding me back is the paycheck.

Why Biomedical Eng.?
Easy to gain PR in Australia and good prospect. Do I hate the subject? No I don't.

How true is the saying "you'll never work a single day in your life if you do something you like"? What if I can't earn enough to support a family (of four)? My children needs proper education too..Takkan I find a rich wife
Am I thinking too far ahead?

The other way is to get a Masters in Biomedcial Eng. and then after that continue studying what I like after that. But is it worth it? To study so much for financial assurance?
Take a double degree instead?

Would just like to hear some different opinions, especially from someone who resides in Australia.

Anything that I can improve on?

1. Read More
I added the "Read more" in every long post to help reduce loading time, but do you think it's necessary?
I read before somewhere that it actually affects my website if mine is not famous because people won't bother clicking on it?

2. Slow background loading
Someone commented "the background image takes too long to load – reduces PR ."
I searched the net but couldn't find anything related to Background affectings PR.

2. How to change header size? It seems that my header is "fixed" it won't go beyond the size. Do a search on "ERROR TEXT" @ my website then you'll understand what I'm talking about.
