2003 well-maintained Altis OR new Axia/ etc?

Hi guys. Am looking for a car to be used in the next 3 years at least. As the Malaysian property market is now rather harsh on us, I prefer to secure a house before getting a new set of wheels. Here are my options;

- a well-maintained, 2003 Altis 1.6 owned by a family friend. Car is sent to Toyota's Service Center for each and every service/ repair works etc.
(anyone with experience with the 1.6? heard it's under-powered. fuel consumption info please!). Asking for 28k

or

- a new Axia/ Saga or anything +/- 5-8k from that.

Would most probably be driving say, 150km for a return trip from work. Unless I plan to rent a place nearby, but we'll see.

Creating a new partition - win7 (data loss?)

Hi guys.

Am planning to resize my main partition from 450gb to 430/ 20(as a new partition). Can I get a confirmation that if I were to do this via diskmgmt.msc I won't lose any data? Friend suddenly told me that he once ter-format his HDD by creating a new partition. Haven't done it in a long time, just wanna be sure because I do not have an external HDD with me to backup my data. Outstation. Cheers!

Pretty sure most of us have either worn it or seen our friends wearing one of those red-coloured strings, usually Buddhist-associated. I've been wearing mine for about 10 years now- the one I have is not 10 years old lah, I 'renew' mine every year, as it has never came loose nor broken. However, mine finally broke today. Anyone know of any significant meaning behind this? Friend told me once it's about kena kacau. Parents told me if it breaks then I'm no longer a naughty boy lol. Do enlighten me.

Recently contributed an article to a local 'premier education website' as I was given the invitation to do so. It became their most popular post, after being shared for more than 200 times on Facebook alone- yes , that also mean that their Facebook page gained some new likers from here too. However, the article was removed earlier today, citing that 'it was for the best' leaving me clueless after I found out that I no longer had access to the page. I believe that my rights have been breached, after that article that I had put effort on has been taken down without any sense of acknowledgement, let alone consent.

Any one here with such experience dealing with publishers? Do share.

Dropped my phone recently, and realised that I've gotten this little scratch (NOT a dent)on the top speaker grill. Am planning to have this part alone replaced as I sayang this phone much. Does anyone here have any contacts who might be able to help me out on this?

On top of that, they're infamously known for taking ages (a month, at least.) to repair our phones- time is not a luxury for me as I NEED my phone for work purposes. OEM parts can be found at not more than USD7.00, online.

Really wish to preserve the looks of my phone. The damage may seem minimal but it does scar me a bit! Yes, I should have gotten myself an Otterbox Defender/ UAG case etc but that's a little too late now? Perhaps I will if I can get this part replaced first.

WTA: Are green laser pointers (5mW) illegal?

The above question refers. Specifically in regards to passing Malaysian customs. Am aware that certain commercial laser pointers such as the ones manufactured by Logitech and Benq (their projector remote controls comes with an incorperated laser pointer, however- red). As I'm wondering if purchasing one via eBay and have it shipped to Malaysia would be a smart idea. Do enlighten me, thanks!
