WTA Fuel efficient budget car/mpv. Whats the best?

I have been reading and following the threads in this section for the past couple of months with intention of learning more as i am seriously considering changing my 12 year old corolla for a new replacement end of this year. The corolla is kept well and although there is wear and tear, it is still a nice drive. Only problem is fuel efficiency has dropped and i can only get maximum 400km from a full tank RM70. I do not drive with a heavy foot and my normal RPM is around 2K and i use mainly trunk roads and town driving.

I understand fuel efficiency is very much a subjective matter and after reading so many posts, i am still confused and i guess i did the wrong thing and asked friends and i am even MORE confused . I am looking for something within the RM50K to RM75K range, basically means my options are Persona, Preve, Exora bold, Alza, Avanza, Vios J and maybe the almera. I know it's hard to compare between a sedan and a budget MPV but in terms of all these models that i mentioned, what would be the best fuel efficiency?

Any feedbacks is much appreciated.
