[WTA] US Car DVD/GPS Heau Unit in Malaysia

Dear ICE enthusiasts, some doubts to clear on using a US car Head Unit in Malaysia.

Recently came across a 2012 model, Alpine Car Navigation System, Alpine INE S920HD. In short, it is a double DIN DVD player with GPS, HD radio.

Questions:

1. Will the radio frequency works in Malaysia?
(From what I've researched in Google, US player can adjust the frequency in odd number only, which is quite relevant in Malaysia, however, I couldn't seem to find the frequency range)

2. The Head Unit installed with US map, and i know in Malaysia we cant use it. Any special way we can do to install the Malaysia map into the head unit?

[WTA] Cracking/Popping Sound from Speakers

Need expert opinion, sought in Google/LYN, no solution found so far.

2011 Kia Forte 1.6SX, using original CD player, installed:

1 x Audiobahn Monoblock Amp
1 x Audiobahn 4 Channel Amp
1 x Alpine DD Linear Component in front
1 x MTX 5500 Sub
1 x Pre Amp
1 x Hi-Lo from Ori player (No RCA Output from player)
1 Fuse Box
RCA - Monster Cable
Normal Speaker Cable

Ground x 2 at back seat
RCA from Hi-Lo(Player to Preamp) run together with power cable at right side

Problem:
After installation there is a 'popping' sound from both the mid and tweeter, only when I on and off my engine. Not so loud, but still annoying, and afraid of permanent damage to my speakers.

Went back to the shop, wire checked, and RCA wrapped. Still similar symptoms. Tauke said its Forte player problem as no Remote output, so they connected using ACC. Tried sound suppressor, still similar problem.

Tried disconnect preamp, all RCA, still popping sound.

Sought Google, suggest Voltage Regulator, however, my Ori player runs on 14.4DC, not 5V.

Disappointed Car Trading Experience

Last 2 weeks, I went to Naza Kia, attended by a friendly salesman, discussion went well and I decided to trade in my Proton Wira Aeroback 1.3 Manual(2001 model) for a Kia Forte. The second hand car dealer had a look at my car briefly, offered me RM10,000, he also asked me to take off my ICE as I have quite heavy ICE(2 set components, 2 amp, woofer, player - worth about RM8,000 total). So I took off every ICE i have, including player, speakers, amp woofer etc.

Ok, loan went well, and I got my new car last week. HOWEVER, 3 days after I got my car, the Kia sales reps called back, asking me to return my Wira's custom player and front speaker for him, with the reason that the second car dealer only asked me to remove my amp and woofer, but not the player and speakers(I gave back Wira ori player, but he said broken). Of course I said no as both the players and component speakers cost me around RM2k. So the second hand car dealer actually quite angry with my act of removing all ICE, so he asked me to buy him new player and speakers. The way he talk also not very polite.

To avoid trouble, I agreed to buy him new player and a set of speakers, which cost me around Rm150 for both.

Extra Rm150 is not an issue, seems like we have some miscommunication regarding the ICE, but their after sales service really disappointed me. They can at least talk politely to their customers, or even install the player/speaker themselves.

Just my humble opinion.
